[Blind Gossip] This well-known actor came to fame in a film that he did many years ago. He is in Cannes. He is happy to talk about his new projects.

Everything has been going well. Until someone dared to ask him about his most famous role.

Uh oh.

He said something to the effect of, “Actually, I’m very excited to talk about [new film]!” but the reporter kept circling back to [old film]. [Actor] got really annoyed, put his hand over the mic, said, “Give it a rest, already!” and just walked off in the middle of the interview!

    I’m not certain who to pick but I don’t think the actor was wrong here. In this case, the reporter was in the wrong. The actor, as everyone else, is there to promote whatever is out now, not what they did in the past. One question about it is enough. If they decline, you move on. This reporter apparently kept circling back to talking about that film and one role. It’s unprofessional of the reporter.

    Dan Radcliffe being asked about Harry Potter. The pic looks like the train station at the end. He is usually so lovely with reporters and recognizes that he will always be Harry, but sometimes too much is too much.

    Robert Pattinson being asked about Twilight. Yes, I’d be annoyed too. Good Time got a standing ovation and he’s slated to win big for his role. I’d be pissed if all anyone wanted to talk about was some stupid teen vampire movie I did years ago, they still hound him and KStew about their relationship. Get over it geez.

    Twillight made him a household name but after five years and several other movies including his latest one, he has every right to refuse to talk about that franchise for the umpteenth time, especially when his latest film at Cannes is earning him early Oscar buzz.

      totally, megarella. I think it was a series many people enjoyed but the stars were using it as a springboard into better projects they saw themselves doing… and I think they have both done well (K Stew and R Pat). So why would a journalist at Cannes want to write a piece that referenced Twilight? So dumb.

    I think it would probably be a double edged sword. On the one hand, it’s like, “I’ve done so many other things since that role”. The other side is, no one would know who actor was if he hadn’t done such a good job at the ONE role. So, yes, I’d probably get annoyed anyway.

    He seems like a creep. That whole creepy, skeezy Halle Berry kiss at the Oscars…I can believe he’s a total jerk off screen. Good Publicity for any movie you do is always good. He needs to get over himself!

    Also thought of Cuba Gooding Jr from Jerry Maguire, but I’m not sure he has a movie at Cannes…and too lazy to look it up!

      I doubt it’s Adrian Brody, the press doesn’t seem to talk about him, to him, nor mention him . He would be glad that they noticed him now.

      This! Twilight far and away eclipses everything he has done. Not true of Pacino or Leo etc.

      Agree. “Came to fame” is the key. Leo and Depp were already famous and established but Pattison indeed came to fame playing Edward. I can understand his frustration but he’s lucky and needs to realize it. Hang in there and do good work and something else will happen.

      I thought of him but twilight is only 9 years ago , does that count as “many years ago” or it was written that way to be not TOOO obvious

      You may have a point about age but WHY would an interviewer keep repeating TITANIC to Leo now? Suppose you could argue Martin Scorsese’s THE IRISHMAN would start a Godfather convo with Pacino since it is also with DeNiro but I don’t know.

      which ONE role is Leo associated with? Guess you could argue TITANIC but he has done SO much huge stuff he is in no way associated with one role folks would still be asking about.

      Leo is not my cup of tea, so have never seen him in a movie. To me he is still that pimply adolescent who got WAY too much press early on. Yuck.

      Oh and his breakout start I think most technically was Gilbert Grape so I don’t think they’d be discussing it or TITANIC.
