Desperate Costume

[Blind Gossip] If an actor has played a uniquely costumed character at some point in their career, they often try to move on so that they are not identified solely by that character.

For example, George Reeves, the original TV Superman, hated being typecast as the superhero. In fact, he hated it so much that he burned his Superman costume at the end of every season that the show was on the air.

Not every actor becomes so disdainful of their character. An occasional one may even slip on the costume for a one-off charitable event.

But… what if they do it more? Like, a lot more?

He is desperate. That’s why he keeps doing public appearances in costume. His financial situation is not good. His back end deal for the film is a lot more than his salary. This film was very expensive to produce. If it doesn’t hit certain numbers, he is financially f*cked. He’s going to wear that costume every damn day if he has to.

So, if you see this famous franchise actor riding the subway wearing that famous costume, just remember he’s not doing it because he loves the character so much or because he wants to amuse you. He’s doing it strictly for the money. Or the booty.

    It may SEEM that he is broke &with his ex managers insisting he is broke its difficult for people to question it. But he is FAR from broke. Those 12 storage facilities full of memorabilia r assets he can sell anytime, as are the paintings. He gets residuals every year- IN CASH. Yes that weird village in France is a liability but he can earn rent

    There is a short list of actors who have played for both “main” comic teams, and only a handful we know have had “acquired” the costumes. The hint they hate the older/”other” team’s character they played narrows it down even further.

    Most likely? Ryan Reynolds, current Deadpool, former Green Lantern.
    Second guess? Ben Affleck, current Batman (BvS), ex-Daredevil.

    Can’t be Jackman cause Logan was the last one and it’s already released.
    Could be Downey Jr, but there is no Iron Man movie scheduled, he’s not the main character of Spider Man, and Avengers will probably be a big success (but his last non Marvel movies were a flop so maybe).

    Would think about Henry Cavill, i don’t know if Man of Steel or Batman Vs Superman were big hits, and except for his role of Superman, he’s no one.

    I love him as an actor, but if he really is in deep financial trouble, then I feel sad for him! He is so talented! Hopefully he can find some new roles where he can showcase his talent and get a fresh start. As much as I love him in the Pirates movies, he needs some new, meatier roles.

    He became a biggish star only a few years ago, and did British productions before – top quality all you want, but they pay a tenner and a cuppa compared to Hollywood stuff – so he never struck me as terribly rich.

      Amber was his second wife, he and Vanessa were not married. Beside that he apparently has all his money “invested” so he’s not exactly broken, more like not liquid but he can always sell some

    I’m going for a conservative $5 billion. He’s been on Forbes list for several years raking in $30-$75 million.

      Everybody thinks this is Johnny Depp because of the booty clue, but Kevin Spacey was just seen on the dc metro dressed as Frank Underwood so I think it may be him. I could be totally wrong lol
