She was crying about the mean comments people were making online. We thought it was because people were criticizing the production or her acting. She was actually crying because some people were calling her fat.

    It was so bad, I wonder if it was intended to be bad. I found it rather creepy that even movements and facial expressions were copied (poorly) from the original. Casting and wardrobe was horrific. If they had only gone for laughs, it might have been a funny parody but there is no way the original Dirty Dancing could be improved upon. I quite liked the way Abigail looked. She looked healthy and not obsessed with her body being tiny but she isn’t a dancer!

    Being in Australia I don’t know anything about a Dirty Dancing remake. However I have to ask: WHY ON EARTH WOULD ANYONE MAKE A RERUN OF SUCH AN ICONIC MOVIE??!!!! WHO thought THAT would work??!!

    Did anyone see any of the interviews done promoting it? Everyone seemed rather… muted in their enthusiasm. Abagail said she couldn’t dance in an interview I saw. She was right.

    I managed to avoid that wack bs until just now when I had to google it. Maybe pudgy is more appropriate than fat, but ya. She looks heavy, and I felt bad for the guy who had to lift her like she wasn’t. Wasn’t the whole premise of the original that Swazye picked Baby because she looked like she could be a good replacement? AB’s figure doesn’t look anything like a pro dancer’s, nor like it would easily fit existing costumes. Mos def looks nothing like JenGray’s 0% body fat bod from the…

    it was HORRIBLE…. they hired an actress who can;t dance and dancer who can’t act for the leads….the choreography was awful especially the “had the time of my life” finale.

    “Baby” is supposed to be 18 but breslin looked like she was 13 and the guy palying johhny is around thirty and he looks old so it was a creepy pairing of these 2 together

    Abigail Breslin : Dirty Dancing remake. It was nothing short of an abomination. No one danced well enough to be in a movie about dancing. The acting, music, writing and wardrobe were just horrendous. As for body types, Breslin is a very attractive young woman whose petite, womanly body type is quite different from the abundance of insect thin women we’re always forced to look at. If anything, she appears to have little muscle tone, which conflicted with all the dancing her character was doing.

    Who comes up win these ideas to remake classics? The casting was some of fhe oddest I have ever seen…I thought she was miscast, not believable, She was not a good dancer, her costumes were ugly, and I thought the whole movie was horrible. There’s nothing more to say.

    What did you think about her TV special? What was good or bad about it? All bad…extremely cringeworthy and embarrassing. Terrible acting and no chemistry between the actors.

    Abigsil Breslin and the cringeworthy looking remake of Dirty Dancing that aired last night.

    Did not watch, its hard enough to do a remake, even harder to try and replace a leading actor that many loved who you think of immediately when you hear of DD and how he’s gone way too soon.

    Abby should have stayed off of social media for this one, you have to know the trolls would be out in full force for it. Doesn’t excuse personal attacks on her though.

    I watched about half an hour and then just couldn’t take anymore. It was awful. She’s not fat, she’s just has a very large chest which made her look bigger than she is. What bothered me were her teeth. They were gray.

    Optional : It was horrendous. She can’t dance at all. And all of those outfits were incredibly unflattering, especially because she is not chubby or overweight. I tried looking up if they had her in a fat suit because of how different she looked from normal pictures and from Scream Queens. That costume designer and the whole production team need to be fired.

    Not having a good day would be opposite of having the time of your life, song from film.
    Shouldn’t have bothered touching that movie, ever. No remake was needed and I’m sorry Abigail, you weren’t meant for that part neither was the guy that played Swayze’s role. Sometimes it’s better to use your head and consider that the original has fans that won’t take too kindly to someone coming along thinking it needs remade.

    NO ONE SHOULD HAVE REMADE THAT MOVIE!! They deserve the lambasting. The trailer in itself should have provided some insight! I mean, the voice-over was so happy and peppy! Like a cheerleader was doing it! The original and only one I will recognized dealt with some really heavy stuff.

      …and she did get a little heavy, but she’s most definitely not fat. She’s a very very pretty girl. Decent actress. She just needs to cut out carbs and sugar…maybe exercise. If she’s going to lose, I hope she does it the healthy way. Not by starvation. They she’ll look like a bobble head anorexic, like the rest of them in Hollywood.

    I watched the whole thing and it was terrible. The acting was bad, the music was not good, it was just all wrong. They dressed Abigal Breslin in the most unflattering outfits imaginable. She is not fat! The costumes they gave her were horrendous.

      I read the Rolling Stone review and it was pretty funny. The stills of her in the article were not flattering. She had cankles in one image and the lift photo in the water was cringeworthy. Compare that to the original water lift with Jennifer Gray and she looked like a whale. I don’t think she is necessarily fat, just poorly miscast and not right for that role.

    Dirty Dancing original movie is my all time favourite, so… that remake is just awful. Atrocity. Stupid. This guy is as far from Patrick Swayze’s talent and amazing charm as he can be.
    As for her… She can’t dance, that’s certain. I am usually the last person to criticise girls who have normal, regular bodies but unfortunately she does look a little bit chubby in this movie. Its the honest harsh truth.

    Oh boy. I was avoiding the whole thing, being an UBER FAN of the ORIGINAL movie. There is no way I was going to be happy with ANYTHING done in a reboot! So, my hubby is flipping channels and says, “hey look, it’s Dirty Dancing, don’t you want to see this?” Told him, ok, I will have a gander since its on. I lasted maybe 10 minutes. Although I love Katey Segal normally, that Fever number was too much to bear…..

    It was God awful. One of the worst movies I’ve ever seen. I’d like to hear the reason why she was chosen to play this part…. although the entire cast was awful.

    Her dancing was stiff and disjointed. And I’m sorry, but she did look fat. Her wardrobe for this movie was not flattering at all.

    Abigail Breslin. Dirty Dancing was terrible. She doesn’t look fat, in my opinion, but her styling and costuming as1963 Baby were very unflattering. She looked good when she was in the ’70s, I guess. But the production was dumb, Why wouldn’t they cast someone who could dance?

      The poor girl. She did look fat in her costumes. I feel bad it hurts her, but what does she expect?

      If she doesn’t want to be called out? Don’t take on such an iconic role knowing you will be compared to the original. The remake was a disaster and just awful. Very poorly casting in some roles! Debra Messing? Horrible actress. Horrible. What a colossal fail. And the Johnny role? Again, bad choice. Patrick Swazy was train smoke HOT.
