    Oooh, so looking at the other posters’ guesses, Mel C’s last album was “The Sea”. That may be why the clues have a nautical slant! But I’m still thrown by the BritPop clue!

    I can’t figure this one out, as there were really very few bands identifying as “BritPop” hailing from Liverpool. Only one I can think of is John Power from Cast – “casting” a net to fit in with “trawling” and “hook up”. Or John Squire of The Seahorses, but not close enough to be Scouse. And neither of these people would make sensational reporting. Many bands from the North were from either side of the Pennines and surrounding areas. I’m stumped! Totally intrigued as to who this…

    If the band are from Liverpool this could be a member of The La’s or Cast. John Power was in both.

    Or it could be one of the guys from Space, they are Scousers too. Not sure you’d really call any of these bands Brit-pop though.

    Perhaps I’m reading too much into this item and into the photo, but there’s no gender specified here. Additionally I think some of the Spice Girls are from Liverpool. And that photo looks a little spicy.

    The only big Britpop stars of the 90s I can think of that are from Liverpool are Ian Brodie from Lightning Seeds or John Power from Cast.

    Simply judging by the hints , I’m going to guess Katrina Leskanich from the 90’s band Katrina and the Wave. They did the original version of “ Going Down To Liverpool “ although the later, more popular version was by the Bangles.
    In answer to the optional question of which occupation I find sexy … I’m an animal lover, so any occupation that involves kindness and compassion towards animals works for me ❤️

    Optnl: In a fantasy world, I would say an old style rock n roller, from back in the day (for both of us,) but nah, because they are into groupies and the … ahem … pursuits that Julian allegedly enjoys.
