[Blind Gossip] This actress is not about to let anyone or anything slow down her ambition!

While it looked like she had given up acting for a completely different life just a couple of years ago, she has suddenly and completely reversed course.

She is not only moving back to acting… but has set her sights at the very top of the profession!

She is determined to win an Oscar for Lead Actress. Not just get nominated. WIN.

This is the first time we’ve heard that. Given that she is in her late thirties and has never even had a leading role in any significant production, is this realistic?

Absolutely! She has always known that she is more talented than most actresses out there. The only reason she didn’t score bigger roles in the past was because there were significant racist barriers.

Now that she is more high profile, there are fewer barriers and she is going to go for it.

So she thinks she is talented enough to carry a film and win an Academy Award?

She has always had the TALENT. Now she finally has the OPPORTUNITY.  She just needs to find the right role and the right director.

My, my, my. Our actress certainly is confident!

What about her all of her other commitments (husband/children/charities)?

She is very smart and energetic and can do it all. And whatever she wants, her husband is happy to support her 100%.

Of course he is. The #2 role is one to which he is well accustomed.

    Megan IS getting offers bc of how profile she is. She DOES add cache/intrigue (if not substance or talent) to a project in ways. High profile, press. BUT…. 1) will she mean the kiss of death with inability to pull off a role/make a joke of it? – 2) will she still have to consider what it means when she is revisiting her royal title/duties in a year? She can’t be too provocative… unless she is TOTALLY casting off her old gig as royal. Time wil tell which gamble she makes and how it plays…

    So “Plan B”…. return to Hwood and have others “beg” her to be in roles because she is a “Princess of the Realm” and married to an Heir (6th in line)! “Plan C” – set up a “charity” and milk it for $$ …. similar to the Clinton foundation! Wonder what “Plan D” is?

    I have to wonder why anyone thinks that winning an Oscar will means anything for an acting career. Many actors with long memorable careers never won an Oscar (Angela Lansbury, still working at 90+) , and for a lot of people winning an Oscar means their career declines sooner.

    Alicia Vikander is one recent example. She won an Oscar, and it was thought she’d be the next big thing but she hasn’t even been in a major film in over 2 years. Hilary Swank is another example.

    Poor Meghan. Northwestern is a very good university – but certainly no acting mecca. Meghan’s acting is “wooden”. She needs to watch Scarjo (who I don’t like – but is good) or Regina King (she always knocks it out of the park). She needs good acting lessons.

    Producers are not stupid with their money. She didn’t have the talent before – and marrying a prince didn’t give her any more talent than she had before.     I have to say earning money is better that leaching of taxpayers and scamming for shady charities that celebrities seem to favor. Although she’s not well know as an actress, she might get decent publicity initially but I’m not sure Markle has much star power without the royals. Then again I’ve never seen her work.     The Oscar has nothing to do with the talent and/ or quality of acting portrait but rather who you are. She’s ticking the right boxes.     Yes, she always wanted to go back to Hollywood.and I believe her ego is big enough to believe she’s extraordinary talented and the only reason she didn’t make it till now is her skin colour. Even if there are enough very talented women of colour who made it because they are talented.

    I don’t buy “racist barriers” held her back. Either casting directors didn’t think she was good, or she was more interested in celebrity than being a serious actress. Now having burned bridges as a royal, she has no choice but to become a film star (or else go broke, because Harry has no job skills)

    Obviously it’s MM and Prince Harry. And I think she’ll be far better “Suit”ed to this pursuit (see what I did here? 😉) than she was when she tried to fit in as a Royal. I don’t know that her acting skills are good enough to win an Oscar but it’s good that she is finally channeling her energy to an appropriate source.

    I don’t think she planned on returning to acting, I think she felt she had the Royal bit all sewn up when she undertook it but she was obviously quite wrong.

    Of course this was her plan. Marry a prince, everyone knows who she is now. Quit the royal family and go back to acting. I hope no one hires her. Unfortunately, someone will. But, she will tank! She’s not a good enough actress. And, she’s made herself one of the most hated people in the world.
