[Blind Gossip] For those of you who thought that the dismissal of a certain TV star didn’t make any sense, this should provide some insight!

[The Show’s Creator] is the one who kept everything together all these years. Even though he knew [Lead Actor] hated [Lead Actress], [Creator] was in charge and he always did what was right for the show. He knew that putting [the lead characters] together as a couple worked as a story line and he kept everybody in line professionally and didn’t allow their petty personal bullsh*t get in the way.

As soon as [Creator] left, that’s when the trouble started. [Lead Actor] felt like this was now HIS show, and he told the producers that he wanted to move it in a different direction. Of course that meant dumping [Lead Actress]!

All that crap they’re putting out about how it was a budget decision and how much she will be missed, etc.? Ha ha ha ha! Total bulls*t!

[Lead Actor] hated her, he wanted her out, so she’s out. Simple as that. Yeah, he’s just shot himself in the foot… and f*cked over the entire cast and crew… and probably killed the entire show… but he thinks he’s won!

Sounds like a hollow-point victory to us!

Nathan Fillion (who played Castle) hated his costar Stana Katic (who played Beckett). She was fired a couple of weeks ago.

However, it was a short and hollow victory for Fillion… because Castle has now been cancelled!

When the producers claimed that they “released” Katic and another female cast member (the talented Tamala Jones) because of budgetary concerns, we weren’t fooled. They booted the two most prominent female actors on the show… but renewed the contracts of the three male leads, including Fillion?

Bullsh*t! We knew that Fillion had finally convinced the producers to get rid of Katic.

The fans were not happy about the cast change announcement. While they were not privy to the behind-the-scenes activities of a TV show, they were smart enough to recognize that the show stopped being about Castle several seasons ago, and that Beckett –  and Beckett’s relationship with Castle – was now actually driving the show.

‘Castle’ Canceled By ABC After 8 Seasons

castle beckettAnother Castle shocker. ABC has canceled the veteran crime drama procedural after eight seasons. The May 16 Season 8 finale will now be a series finale.

The cancelation comes after ABC sibling ABC Studios went through the trouble of making new deals with star Nathan Fillion as well as co-stars Seamus Dever, Jon Huertas as well as a couple of others for Season 9.

The show dropped a bombshell last month when co-lead Stana Katic was told she would not be coming back, along with fellow original cast member Tamala Jones.

The move drew big backlash from fans. Still, signs had been pointing to a renewal, possibly for a shortened, 13-episode ninth season at a reduced license fee.

Now, the show will remain about Castle and Beckett till the end, with no Castle 2.0 where Castle flies solo. And the showrunners will have to use the alternative ending they shot just in case the show doesn’t continue.

Fillion has no one to blame but his own big, fat ego for the cancellation of the show. His insistence on the the death of Beckett = the death of Castle.

Now everyone in the cast photo below – plus hundreds of crew members – are out of work. Well done, Fillion!

    Oh thank God, now, just maybe, there will be a Firefly Part2. If they can get Jewel, Summer, Sean, Adam, Gina and Nathan back this would all be worth it. Adams military show “The Last Ship” isn’t that great as they don’t feature him enough and I’d love to see him jump ship from “The Last Ship.” Get the whole gang back and get Joss away from the comic book movies and GET IT DONE!

    I used to love love love Castle. But it started going off the rails a couple of seasons ago and I just quit watching it. It’s never come back. Sad he did this. It was a really great show………

I was a solid fan of the she show for about five seasons, then things changed – either the writers or the actors changed their characters, the story lines became a little dull, and the chemistry slowly faded. Since I don’t personally know either Fillion or Katic, and I never put faith in Tweets, Face Book, and other internet social nightmares, I have no idea if they are good people or not, or what actually happened.     This is not as dumb a move as you think. It’s been coming on for a long time. It should have been obvious when Castle’s daughter became a partner in his own fancy, expensive hi-tech PI office.

    The show will continue with Castle and his daughter and other characters, continuing to work with Havi and others from the Police department. It could turn into a better show.

    Abbie was half the show, so I think if the show don’t get cancel this season it’s because they going to renew it for one more season to make patient syndication.

    This may tie to JJ Abrams’ blind from a few days ago where he said it was a nightmare working with a woman who guest-starred on Alias. Stana Katic guest-starred on Alias. Perhaps there was good reason why Nathan hated her.

    I am very surprised at Nathan Fillion! He has been such a fan favorite for years. He seemed to have great chemistry with Stana Katic on Castle.

    Castle and Stana Katic’s sudden dismissal. VERY BAD decision. That whole show worked because of those two characters. Now it’s just going to fall apart.

I watched the show a few times with a friend of mine who was devoted to it. Never thought it was all that great, but I do have to say that if things were that bad between Katic and Filion, they sure didn’t…

    Hollow might be taken in reference to Sleepy Hollow, but this blind item is definitely about Castle’s Nathan Fillion and Stana Katic. Especially with all the reports of on-set conflicts between the two of them. Nathan is a grown up that behaves like a child.

      a lot of the hints seem to fit castle better, but “hollow” point and also the showrunner bit – the showrunner for SH left last year, don’t think any castle showrunners have

    So typical for them to cut the nose to spite the face like they say. Why can’t the cast get along knowing it’s the only source of income they have for the moment on a successful series. It’s idiotic. The do this by not getting along, demanding more money, and acting like stupid divas.

    After all the things I have heard about how nice he is, I refuse to believe he made such an overt move. I lost interest in her character long ago, but if they could retool it with Castle, Espo and Ryan in a new situation, I’m in again.

    Castle of course… Nathan has always had a much higher opinion of his talent than others… as I recall he tried that approach when he was on the soaps and they ended up replacing him down the line… he really has no idea that the show worked because of the premise writer/detective

      I don’t follow the cast (although I watch the show) but if I recall correctly, Fillion forced the production to a halt when refusing to go to work several days in a row because his demands (working only 4 days a week I think) were not met. I had no idea his ego was that huge. Holy hubris! I will personally stop watching once Stana Katic is gone. I have no interest whatsoever in watching the Fillion show, nor a bro show. The Beckett, Ryan & Espo (& Lanie) show however… that I’d watch!

    If they hate each other then there’s no point in them working together. It must also cause tension on set. Life is short. The future success/failure of the show depends on where they take it. The show is also in it’s 8th season, the end is near unless they can work magic.

      I just want to add, the best thing about the show is Ryan and Esposito. I would love to see more of them. Or they could just get their own show.

      So many people on this thread are saying the same thing. I hope that the powers-that-be at ABC are reading this. Huertas and Deaver are magic on-screen together. They’ve got one of the best relationships on television. Let the writers run with that.

    Is this a popular show because truth be told I have never watched one episode or even part of an episode. I’ve heard more about this show since this Katic woman was let go than I ever heard of it before. I mean, I knew it was out there, but whether this hurts the show I have no idea because I’ve never had any desire to watch it.

      I work nights, so I watch a lot of bad crime shows. I’ll even watch NCIS and CSI: Computers are scary, but I will not watch Castle (or Bones), it’s a garbage show.
