[Pop Bitch] The lead singer of which very credible indie band is moonlighting as the go-to high-end weed dealer for the celebrities of downtown Manhattan?

[Optional] Do you think that weed should be legalized across the country? Please keep your comments civil.

I’m stuck on “credible”. I’m sure it’s a direct clue as well, because “very credible indie band” is a really odd thing to say otherwise — but the only indie bands I can think of that fit it are Joywave (who’ve put out a song called “Credible”) and The One AM Radio (who’ve put out a song called “Credible Threats”), neither of whom are based in Manhattan.
Joywave are from Rochester, though. Guess I’ll go with Joywave’s Daniel Armbruster.

Optional: Anyone with a brain stem knows it should be legalized.
1. As others have stated, less dangerous than alcohol.
2. Helps people with seizures, arthritis, insomnia, depression, I could go on but it says 500 characters.
3. The state makes many millions in one week, cuts out middle person.
4. LOWERS CRIME RATE! How many crimes do u feel like committing when you’re stoned?
5. No nasty hangovers, no physical withdrawal.
6. No chance of it being laced, since u buy it at…

One of the Howard Brothers in the band Disclosure. They are more snyth pop. They have a new single called moonlight.
Or a more likely person is Michael Stipe and his Friend Thom Yorke. I do not care for Mr. Stipe. He is a pretentious snob. I don’t like the smell of pot. Do whatever you want away from me.

The location makes me think this is Paul Banks of Interpol. But I seriously doubt he would that as he apparently lives part time in Panama.

Katie bar the door, it’s Michael Stipe.
Gardening at night is never where.
Green grow the rushes grow.
Of course, legal everywhere.
Bheasa1 says
Sounds like it could be that yellow-skinned, hat-bothering pudge Pete Doherty of The Libertines.
Bad Janet says
It’s Ezra Koenig from Vampire Weekend. He co-wrote & sang The Moon Song from the movie Her and has always been fairly open about smoking weed. I’m pretty sure he lives in LA now.

I feel like this would be Jared Leto. Idk why…

If the clue is Man in the Moon, then REM is my first guess, so Michael Stipe. I’m of two minds: part of me doubts that, part of me could see that. ?

Just for a giggle I’ll say Debbie Harry. (Marianne Faithful was probably the go-to girl in earlier years.)
Optional: Yes, I think it should be. So many people have miserable lives and jobs that they need some form of escape that isn’t reckless or violent. I myself would try it for medicinal purposes if I could (it’s legal in my state but doctor and practise won’t prescribe it. Oh, well…)

I have no idea who it is, but good for them. The weed scene in NY was dismal when I was last there. Weed should be legal everywhere. It is asinine to legislate a plant.
gldstwmn says
Weed isn’t legal in NYC?
gingercat says
No clue on the singer although I’m sure “credible” is a clue.
Yes, personal use should be legal.

Julian Casablancas? Or the guy from the National? Or what’s his name from the Black Keys?
“Weed dealer” doesn’t sound scary – try someone dealing meth or heroin.
draconius25 says
Wesley Schultz of the Lumineers.

Oh, man, this just SCREAMS Paul Banks from Interpol. Why else is he so tapped in with such a broad swath of the music biz?

Opt: yes, and not only in US (I’m foreigner here), weed is less addictive than alcohol, but what we see at market.

The guy from The National.

Yes, weed should be legal.
