This Movie Star Walks Into A Foreign Bar

BONUS CLUE!

[Blind Gossip] The very popular young actress recently visited a foreign country. She walked into a local bar to have a drink.

It did not go well.

She made a scene because this is a small, quiet, local bar, and she walked in with several friends and they were all chatting and taking photos. She also had a large bodyguard with her. He stood in the center of the bar with his arms folded, glaring at the other patrons as if they were a threat. It was amusing to me because I know who she is, but no one else in the bar even seemed to recognize her as she is not famous here!

In my country, the bartender does not walk up to you and ask you what you want. He waits to be signaled by you when you are ready to order. She was at the bar talking to her friends and taking photos. It would have been very rude of him to interfere. Since no one in her group ever motioned to him, he just politely stood at the other end of the bar and waited.

She seemed very offended by this. After a few minutes, she said to her group, “Come on, let’s get out of here!” and walked out complaining, “I can’t believe he refused to serve me!”

BONUS CLUE! Our actress has three names.

    This is rather sad, but if I worked in a bar – or any retail establishment – and any of the guesses (Millie Bobbie Brown, Evan Rachel Wood or Chloe Grace Moretz) walked in, I wouldn’t know who they were either!

    Not many young actresses with three names. I don’t think Millie Bobby Brown, because she’s not old enough to drink in most countries.

    Well, I thought it was until the bonus clue.

    How about Millie Bobbie Brown, although she’s waaaaaaay too young to be doing this?

    Optional: Traveling to the beach on the blue line and one guy kept insisting there was a cow on the tracks (in a city area) while a guy who looked just like Fred Mertz in a skirt got off the train. The stop? Wonderland!

    Chloe Grace Moretz. I guess the oddest event, in terms of service, is in some countries, they will not bring you your check until you ask for it. We sat for about 20 minutes, wondering, what’s the hold up? Then we remembered we have to ask for it, it’s considered rude to put your bill on the table until it’s requested.

    No clue – but I just want to comment on the picture —

    I LOVE SINGHA Beer. It’s a staple of the diet in Thailand – it’s like the 4th member of the food group! A day without Singha is like a day without rice!

      Germany has 14 for beer and wine if with an adult (over 16), Spain has no lower limit if with the parents. I remember it was weird being able to go to the bar at 15 when i visited my sister studying in Germany, but hey, it works for them.

    (She seems too nice for this, but ‘seems’ is the operative word; anyhow, hopefully it just was a terrible misunderstanding; although, if I was a foreigner in another land I would expect variations in culture, and thus protocol…so to be ready to expect the unexpected & respect it for what it is as I am only a visitor to that country).

    Don’t know who the movie star is, but Pink expressed her extreme displeasure that a bar was not able to accommodate her glorious self and entourage when she was here in NZ. Considering she was here solely to make money from our citizens its s little diva-ish

    No idea re the actress. When I was in Amsterdam I was looking at earrings at an outdoor market. The vendor’s friend came up and started complaining about women, in Spanish. German women were too harsh and demanding, Dutch women walked too loudly (!), but Latin women “are like a sauce. They compliment the man!” He left and I then asked the vendor the cost, in Spanish. Ever seen a man turn bright red? Those guys were from Argentina. I’ll never forget that little experience 🙂

      Ha! Good for you. I had a similar experience when I was picking up my car from my mechanic. His old man friend asked him, in German, if I was his new wife. I replied in German and made him deeply uncomfortable, just like he deserved.
