When it is finally released, she is going to tell the public that it was written for and about a certain man who is no longer in her life. The sheer sentimentality of that notion could make it a hit.

The reality, though, is that the song was actually written for and about… her girlfriend!

    I kind of feel bad for whoever Celine Dion’s girlfriend is……..that they feel they cannot just be themselves in the world.

    All I got was Celine and Adele, but I never heard of them being gay. I would pick Rihanna and her girlfriend Melissa, but you said love songs is the genre, and she is mostly pop. I’m out. I give up. It’s probably Taylor Swift then.

    Celine will say it’s about Rene. Optional: Can’t say it wouldn’t all together influence me but not a lot.
    Extra Optional: Never was a fan of Celine’s music-didn’t hate it, just not into it-then on a whim I got tickets for one of her shows and I have to say it was worth every penny and they were very expensive seats. I wouldn’t spend money on a cd of hers but would definitely see one of her shows again.

      I have also heard that Celine is amazing in concert. A friend of mine went to one of her shows years ago, not particularly a fan, and was completely won over.

      My husband had a big work even that included Celine tickets, and he was going to just sell them. Due to his flight being delayed, he didn’t get to the hotel in time to sell them, so he went. He’s a big Dead guy. He said her show was amazing and really entertaining.

      To the lady who said she doesn’t think Celine could be gay, it’s been all over the internet for years that her ‘personal assistant’ is her lover. And really, who cares?

      The arm in the air is a clue. Not only is she know for these big love themes, but she has these over the top gestures. Her arms are frequently in the air.

      Its her. There have been lesbian rumors about her for a long time. Not that I don’t believe them, but I do think that she and Renee were truly in love. Maybe they had an arrangement, but whatever it was it seemed very loving and passionate – even if it was more platonic than not.

    Sorry and response to last bit – the true back story would make it more fascinating and appealing I think.. Otherwise it’s just same old same old loved him but lost him garbage. I’m sure at some point her fans want her to succeed in a real true relationship whoever that is with. And if it is who you are suggesting woah she’s struck gold!!

    No, for me the backstory sometimes changes the emotional connection I feel from the song whilst hearing it. Kind of like reading the book and then seeing the movie (or visa versa in this case). It often leads one to be a disappointment to me.

    Singer: I know this is supposed to be about Taylor Swift. But who would “leak” this type of information? Not Taylor or her team. So, it would have to be the bitter ex who is ranting on Twitter. Is this his way of refusing to let her “take him down”? He better be careful. I’m not sure what his and Taylor’s relationship was like, but if he signed a NDA going in, she could end up suing him.
