The Fake Smile

Not true.

That oddly frozen smile is not new. She learned how to smile that way when she was constantly being photographed. All teeth and lips with no other corresponding face movement.

You can replicate the look. Look straight into the mirror with your face relaxed and expressionless. Then smile with just your mouth, without narrowing your eyes or creating crow’s feet. There you go. Want to look even more fake? Spread your lips wider, show those bottom teeth, and clench your teeth together. Congratulations. You are now dead inside.

She did start getting botox several years ago, so some of those upper facial features are now semi-permanently frozen.

Oh, and she’s also lost weight in the past year. Her face is definitely thinner and more drawn.

In summary, she is innocent of having major plastic surgery. However, teeth only + botox + less fat = odd smile.

    I remember seeing Britney Spears on a magazine cover last year and thinking “what?? That is NOT Britney Spears”. Are you *sure* she didn’t have work done on her face? She looks so different!

    Clearly this is Britney Spears, who most everyone has already guessed, but that situation with her upper lip, is that something that can happen from Botox? I am obviously not up to date with the effects of Botox. Regardless, I will always love Brit.

    I just looked at the Britney/Hillary picture. Wow! It doesn’t even look like Britney but I think she looks gorgeous!

    The bit about being photographed constantly – songs piece of me & kill the lights both relate to her relationship with the papparazzi

    Ellie Goulding! Her face is becoming increasingly fake. She did lose the body weight on her own bec she became a gym rat. Her lips were so swollen at the Grammys though.

    Oh god, I say Britney. Just a moment ago I was looking at a pic of her ad Hillary. I was like ‘what the f@#$ happened to her face…her smile?’

    JLo looks different but the clues don’t necessarily fit.

    I hate fake smiles and try not to flash them when my picture is being taken. When my kids were little, I would make farty noises or say “Bongo Drums” to make them genuinely smile. They are now 19 and 16 and it still works today!

    in a car accident and is in a body brace. So strange.

    Optional: Yep, I have and honestly, almost all of us have had to fake smile for school pictures – You sit on a stool, tilt your head a little bit and say “Cheese”. I’ve done it for my driver’s license photo, too, but I always look better smiling for that by not showing my teeth, otherwise I look like I’m biting down on a dental x-ray thinga-ma-jig.

    The comment dead inside makes me think of Britney Spears once she was put on psych meds…plus she has that smile with upper and lower teeth showing and has lost weight recently.

    Yes I do fake smile, I think my real smile makes me look odd in pictures.

    I prefer not to smile in photographs. My smiles end up looking forced, almost like a grimace sometimes haha. If I could figure out a fake smile that I thought looked good in pictures, I would probably do it.

    Singer: Victoria Beckham, although Spice girls was awhile ago, she does get criticized for her smile and she has lost weight.

    I’m not sure is this Carrie Underwood? I think she’s gorgeous but she looks different and she’s lost a lot of weight. I’m not body shaming her, she looks healthy, but I thought she looked great with 10-20lbs more on her frame. She has gorgeous teeth too. She seems like she’s from a pageant world so this might be her.

    Britney Spears seriously didn’t get plastic surgery? Her smile reminds me of the live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and it seemed to have popped up in the last few months. The fake smiles have been obvious for a long time though – it doesn’t reach the eyes.
