month 2[Blind Gossip] This pretty, over-30 film actress has a drinking problem.

She does manage to keep it together enough to show up and do her job, but almost everyone who works with her knows that it’s only a matter of time before it affects her work.

She is actually one of those rare people who is not adverse to getting help. However, she has back-to-back contractual obligations for films, marketing appearances, etc.that are currently keeping her from going into treatment.

She’s too busy to get sober. With her contracts, she just can’t string together a month of uninterrupted time for rehab. She says, “Maybe 2017.”

    I definitely think this is about Natalie Portman. She is over 30, works a lot, and seems like she has it all together. This definitely sounds like her and the word STRING could allude to her movie No Strings Attached.

    It won’t be her first time going into rehab for drugs and alcohol. I remember reading that her rehab stints were voluntary, so the clue “she is actually one of those rare people who is not adverse to getting help” applies to her.

    Kristen Bell. There have been rumors of her having a drinking problem. She came out last week saying she has some mild depression. She is 36 and has Bad Mom’s to film and promote. She does the washing machine commercials, and she’s doing interviews.

      Husband is Dax Shepherd who has battled addiction. Given she seems quite devoted to him, seems unlikely she’d flout the need for rehab…

    I think this is Anna Kendrick. The clue (that’s not in the BI) She’s a former Twilight alumni (so you know how wild that cast was back in the day) Lots of media stories about drinking & partying but she kept her down then. It’s caught up with her now I guess. Hope she gets help.

    I will go out on a limb and say this could be Elizabeth Olsen. Given her Twin sisters Mary-Kate & Ashley’s reputation for partying I wouldn’t be surprised if she was the same way they are family after all.

    the blind says she is one of those rare cases that is open to getting help so ya, I think she is serious but obligations are holding her back.

      And she’s having a serious career resurgence (Emmy nod) so I can see her unwilling to let that go, I think you’re right.

    Not sure who she is, but having to work isn’t an excuse not to sober up. most people who quit don’t check themselves into rehab for a month. Most people couldn’t afford to.

      Melissa McCarthy could be a good answer – when Leslie Jones and Kristin Wiig were on Watch What Happens Live, they both said her liver was in the worst shape of the group when asked.

    I worked 2 jobs FULL TIME and had a drink problem. At 30 I crashed and burned, I got sober. I have been sober since. Getting “Sober” solves part of your problems. She can get SOBER without a 30 day rehab stint. I did it. I am sure I drank more than her….

    Not sure which over 30 actress this could be especially if she’s hiding/has under control =no headlines. Hmm need more clues…lol
    She may be rare 1 that really wants help based on the fact shes speaking of going the route of INpatient. She must know its that bad..but stars like us have bills too…bigger ones..compounded by contract and be sued if broken. Sounds like she cant break..unless thats just excuse to drink longer. Either way best wishes treating this disease

    If she is in perimenopause, she is self-medicating with alcohol for her lack of estrogen. She might need an endocrinologist. I advocate that every woman get a baseline hormone level in her early 30’s so that what is normal for her will be established & a change in level will show clearly. Otherwise, with no personal comparison, doctors will merely compare her to a national “average,” which may or may not be appropriate. (Yes, this was my field.)

      Wow, that is really interesting. When I was in perimenopause, I developed a bad wine habit. I would drink 2-3 (full) glasses of wine every evening, seven days a week. I eventually broke the habit, but then developed Lupus, a hormone-related condition. Hmmm…

      If only I’d heard this advice 10-15 years ago! I don’t drink much but have definitely struggled with debilitating anxiety since starting perimenopause, and I understand why some people would choose to self-medicate. I didn’t know anything about any of the common side effects of hormonal changes ahead of time – wish I had.
