She argued that she accompanies him to sporting events that he likes all time. He still doesn’t want to go.

She told him that she is going to go without him. He told her that if she does that, people will speculate that there is trouble in their relationship.

    Shakira and Pique. They’re in Europe, she has been to his games many times, they have been seen in tennis matches before, she is more into tennis than he is and she is a control freak about her image. BTW I’ve always suspected the December 10, 2013 Athlete Is Using This Performer is about them.

    Sounds a faux couple. If it’s Bey/Jay, should they be excited for the extra headlines and tabloid covers? Her last album was about relationship issues.

    Don’t know about the couple but it is so silly when couples think they need to go everywhere together. You would be surprised how many men AND women feel this way!

    My husband and I have even taken separate vacations when we can’t align our schedules.     Ciara and Russell Wilson are in England for their wedding. Ciara is friends with Serena Williams and, naturally, would want to see her play.

      Ciara and Russell are a good guess. If he let her go to the tennis match alone people will think that there something wrong with their marriage, and that the gay rumors about Russell are true.

    This is a red flag of domestic abuse. You can’t do X because I don’t want to and if you do X this will be the result, ergo any negative fall out is her fault because she did X). I get that celebs have “images” or whatever but this is still abuse on his part, it’s his way or his way.

    Simple solution: If anyone asks where the SO is, shut it down with “I’m so sorry to hear that you can’t spend one day apart from your SO. That sounds awful.” Then just walk away.

    I have no idea who this couple is, but he’s being terribly unreasonable. I don’t see how it’s appropriate to forbid your partner from going to an event they want to attend – assuming it’s not morally objectionable and doesn’t conflict with an important family event. If he doesn’t want her to attend alone, he should suck it up and be bored for a few hours.

    [Optional] Is one of them is being unreasonable? He is. Its good for couples to have things in common and not. Such as one liking tennis while the other doesn’t. Personally, if Pippa makes it to the altar in the next 5 years, I’ll be surprised, that girl has more mileage on her than the A5.

      If I could switch lives with one of the Middleton sisters I know which one I’d choose. Hint: not the one saddled for life with a poorly-aging husband, two kids, judgemental in-laws and zero privacy.

    Yup, he is. If she wants to go, she should go. If he doesn’t want the rumors to start, then he should accompany her. I really don’t get why he doesn’t want to go anyway. Whether or not he likes the sport is immaterial, he cares for her and should share her interests as much as she shares his with him. If he is that adamant about not going, then don’t go, but don’t tell her she can’t.

      I think that might be the point – they’re probably NOT smashing (each other), and if she’s seen without him on their honeymoon it would raise a lot of eyebrows even higher than they already are.
