[Blind Gossip] Actress Pauley Perrette has departed NCIS after fifteen years on the show.
The departure was not a happy one. Perrette posted a series of mysterious and sometimes contradictory tweets about the events surrounding her exit. She talked about “Bullying”, “Multiple Physical Assaults” [sic] and “He did it” and “There is a “Machine” keeping me silent.”
It was all very cryptic. We don’t know if Pauley Perrette was assaulted or if other people were assaulted. We don’t know who the perpetrator/s were. We don’t know if CBS took action or covered it up. Here are the tweets:
What is your best guess as to what happened? Keep it brief.

Thank you! Finally someone with some integrity.

Pauley Perrette sounds as if she is having flashbacks to her abusive, stalking, terrorizing marriage to her freakoid ex-husband. She should have kept her fingers off her keyboard about this, though. Ruining a wonderful show for the fans who are still watching is mean. PP needs to put on big-girl pants and say thank you to the people who kept her in work for 15 years. If someone on the show had done something to her, I believe she would have screamed out loud, not this passive-aggressive crap.
Elmerblues says
what a disingenuous message for someone who supports anti-bullying
1. a machine is keeping me silent – BUT YOU SHOULD TELL SOMEONE
2. I stayed on the show for years enduring it – BUT YOU SHOULDN’T
3. I left – AFTER MANY YEARS OF ABUSE.

I don’t know what’s going on with her. She hated Mark Harmon’s pit bull that he used to bring on the set. She was mad at Mark and refused to sit on the same side of the table as he, then started refusing to do any scenes with him . Her ex husband is accusing her of stalking. I don’t know if she was assaulted on the set or if she’s having some kind of breakdown. She was assaulted outside her home a couple of years ago, so maybe she’s still dealing with that too.
Marvella says
Sorry to say it, but I think she’s just imagining things.
Aurelia says
I believe something(s) happened. I don’t believe her story, or how hard she’s riding her moral high horse. CBS is at war with Viacom right now, any, any bad PR could be a serious disaster, to them, in terms of money. She made a deal with the studio, she simply can’t say what it really was. Ever.
Brunettetalk says
Too much drama. Unclear clues. Sounds like invented stories to grab attention

Hollywood is an evil place. I believe her.
DDivaB says
If this is Mark Harmon my heart is broken. But there were reports that he bullied the creator and original show-runner Don Belasario off the show. And I’ve heard Paula had a problem with a big mean dog Harmon insisted on bringing to the set- sigh.
DDivaB says
^Paulie, not Paula. Autocorrect sucks.
itstarapagain says
Harmon runs the show. His dog gave a crew member a bite worth 20+ stitches. Then brought dog back. I’d call that insensitive at best and potentially dangerous if the dog has already bitten. Not to mention the liability. Can’t believe that CBS hasn’t raised concerns about insurance and demanded that the dog stay offset.
Regardless, it sounds like a bad situation all around. If the story is true, Mark Harmon is really tone deaf.
spoofbyrd says
Well Pauley doesn’t strike me as being a nut job say like Sean Young ( remember her ) , so I guess if this happened it would be because she rebuffed sexual advances which could have been subtle at first and then escalated ! Hope this isn’t Mark Harmon but I think he is powerful because he is an Exec & he had Show Biz connections from this mother that helped him get in the business
Bamadex says
Honestly, I think she has “issues.” There’s a point where quirky meets troubled. Whatever her issues, I hope she saved her money and can take some time off.
boyjack4 says
It sounds like she has severe mental distress, but not sure if events happened or not. If so, she stuck it out for 15 years?
Jelly Drop says
I am not a fan of the show but i have read that she had clashes with Mark Hammond. Over in part about s rescue pit bull he bought on set a year ago and it caused a gash on a crew members leg. He was told to remove it and keep it away. But Hammond brought it back some time later because he could not find someone to look after it. Perrette lost it – final straw kind of lost it and a bad working relationship started.

I’m guessing the whole dog fiasco with Mark Harmon, and him being executive producer on the show “bullied” her out. Did it happen that way? Who knows, but I’m inclined to partially believe her on the facts, though maybe she overreacted on the bullying part. Time will tell.
luddite2 says
I have a feeling there’s more to this. First it’s multiple homeless people, then there’s stuff onset. She should come out and give the information rather than veiled statements. “Multiple physical assaults” is a serious issue to raise and also to ignore.
KarmaFlower says
Mark Harmon. He is NCIS. The last season she appeared in, they didn’t share the camera in a scene. CBS handled it by making her not be around the star of the show, but still a part of the cast. She didn’t want to ruin the show by telling the truth out of concern for the employment of the crew. She didn’t say cast. She said crew. That’s very telling.
CatInTheHat says
I think she may be bipolar. I liked her character on the show but trying to watch her on a talk show was miserable – she acted almost manic without a script in front of her.
She probably left because, real or imagined, she felt her safety was at risk. Hope she gets some help.
mona lisas and mad hatters says
Agreed. She also said she’s afraid of her ex-husband, and she’s afraid of the homeless man who assaulted her – not victim blaming but common sense would be enough for most people to not be wandering dark streets at 2 am by themselves… says she’s afraid to leave her house now – so maybe doesn’t have the best judgement when it comes to choosing wisely.
Obviously stressing and her middle-of-the-night tweets are wordy but don’t say much that makes sense. Hope she gets better.
More_Cowbell says
If the studio that produces the show and the network that airs it have always had her back, then I can only assume that the show’s biggest star, Mark Harmon, is the one who assaulted her. Otherwise, the studio and network would have booted him. If that’s the case then I still think they should have, like Netflix did with Kevin Spacey.
More_Cowbell says
Or maybe Harmon’s dog did it!
oyevey says
Mark Harmon brought his pitbull to the set and it attacked someone. He then brought it to the set again and she flipped out.
heartcouture says
Some illuminati ritual or some demonic thing probably
Blkgoddess says
What happened? My guess is NOTHING.
Anyone can put cryptic information out there but the truth is what it is and only needs to be revealed outright. This whole thing smells like BS, put out there to counter reports that Perrette acted like a pure childish diva when she didn’t get her way.
copssister says
Heard some whispers about Mark Harmon bringing his bully-breed dog to the set – it bit someone on the set, so he took it to a trainer but then brought it back to the set with him once training was completed. She claimed to never feel safe around him because of it.
I have to say, seems more like these two just didn’t care for each other, so anything that he did was interpreted as a bully action toward her.
smoolieloo says
Harmon. his dog dave runs free on the set when harmon is filming. dog’s aggressive. it bit a crew member who was petting it back in 2016. guy had stitches, but had to take the blame to take the heat off Mark Harmon. PP tried in ’17 to get them to remove dog. didn’t work. PP filmed NO scenes with MH this whole season. MH rules. he got mad. prob verbally & some physical assaults on PP. women don’t fair well around the NCIS shows. PP chose to leave. she’s a nice person. i won’t watch NCIS any more.

“He did it” – that puts every male working on that show under suspicion. That is a wrong and cruel thing to do to the majority of men working on that show who are, no doubt, innocent of whatever took place.
It is also a cowardly thing for a woman to make such generalised allegations for the above reason – did she not stop to think how all those innocent men on that show would feel about this?
She has lost the respect that I had for her. I will now look at her NCIS re-runs in a different…

Excellent point!
