Mr Happy Is Going Dark

[Blind Gossip] This very talented actor is best known for a an upbeat TV series in which he starred. However, playing all those nice guys who look like they could burst into song at any moment has failed to bring him any major awards. So he’s going dark.

The nice guy characters aren’t bringing him the accolades he really wants. He’s pushing 40 and he is afraid that he’s never going to win one of the big awards. He is looking for some darker, serious roles to shock people. He’s even talking about faking some dark stuff in his personal life so people will take him more seriously. After he gets a big award, then he’ll go back to being Mr. Happy.

    I know he was just announced in a recurring role for Grey’s Anatomy. I don’t watch GA anymore, but I saw speculation about him supposedly playing an abusive ex husband of one of the characters.

    Clues: “burst into song at any moment”. Also, Mr. Happy. Glee can be used to describe words such as joy and happy

    Also, Matthew Morrison is 38, so he’s almost 40.

      He is 43 and has won Emmy awards, so it’s not him.

      Someone else mentioned Neil Patrick Harris. He’s also 43 and has won Emmys and a Tony.

    Darren Criss from Glee? He just played a villain if the week on Flash and Supergirl (although the character wasnt that villainous)

    Clues – glee/happy, burst into song at any moment – they were well known for walking through places singing. Plus he’s 38 so he’s pushing 40

    I’m not sure who this is, but it reminds me of Happy, upbeat Steve Carell playing Michael Scott in The Office then playing John du Pont in Foxcatcher. Carell was fabulous!!

      My mistake, it says “very talented actor”. That rules out Kutcher. I thought it might be a Glee person,.
