[Blind Gossip] One of the actresses at last night’s Oscars wore a beautiful gown. She accessorized with a large ribbon for a “cause.”
She interacted with a lot of people, but the ribbon did not exactly bring her the attention she wanted.
At the party, she was complaining, “I don’t understand why more people aren’t asking me about my ribbon! I want to talk about the ribbon but they only want to talk about the film. They don’t seem to understand that the ribbon and the film are the same thing. Why don’t they want to talk about it?”
She did say that she did one interview on the red carpet, where, as she was leaving, she heard the interviewer comment to the cameraman, “Did she look in the mirror before she put that ribbon on? Way to ruin an Oscar Gown!”
She said, “I just turned around and said ‘I HEARD THAT!’ and walked away.”

I don’t advertise my political positions in a professional setting. I wear a bracelet for MS awareness, but I wouldn’t wear it to a formal event bc it is inappropriate stylewise. However, I wouldn’t mind a custom fancy one for formal events, but that would mean I would have to get all gussied up and put on paint and spackle and smile a lot. So, on second thought, no thanks.

They have that right, just as anyone has a right to express themselves on whatever subject – however well educated the person may be. Celebrities are free to express themselves and will be held to the same standard. Many I hear are nothing but…

I thought Ruth Negga’s red gown was stunning but I thought the blue ribbon slapped on it looked out of place and definitely ruined the look. Others were more subtle about their placement, or more strategic, but given its placement and given the blind suggestion that they were determined to dialog about it, this is my guess.

Personally, I think entertainers should entertain, and if they want to get political, go into politics like so many other actors, singers, etc. I care about their politics as much as they much as they care about mine, and considering I live in a completely different unpampered, less wealthy world, I wish I didn’t have to hear them complain so much. I pay you to entertain me, so entertain me.

This political activism out of Hollywood is tiresome. They are paid handsomely to act/ sing or dance. Most are stupid and uneducated yet we are to hang on to their every word.? Tell us about how racist we are when our towns and schools are over run with illegals who don’t speak the language and go on welfare for us taxpayers to support. No wall at the border? How about no walls at your estates, and no armed security? Do as I say, not as I do…

I don’t know who this is. Do I love or hate when actors……? I intensely dislike it when rich, spoiled, pampered, uneducated “stars” who live in a bubble of celebrity use their status to push their own agendas on awards shows. If they are genuine in their beliefs, take the mikes/cameras away and let them go to a protest or donate money to a good cause or do a benefit for free. They’re actors who pretend for a living. Why in the world would I want them to tell me how to think or vote?

Okay I had to do some research on this one. At first I thought it was Kate Hudson (How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days) but when i looked up her dress she didnt have any pins. Then I remembered that Dakota Johnson was in How to be Single. I looked her up and she had 2 dresses and she wore the Planned Parenthood pin with both dresses. Unless you know what a Planned Parenthhood pin looks like you would never ask about it. It looks like a regular pin.
On a side note, both of her dresses were butt…

I hate it when actors get political. They really are dissing half of their fan base, and it makes us feel unappreciated. I didn’t watch the Oscars, just read the updates and looked at pictures on Daily Mail. I was relieved to see that not many wore the ribbons, but still, Hollyweird needs to entertain and shut up with the political activism. They COULD try to unite instead.

Don’t know about the actress, but I’ve no problem with celebrities supporting causes and speaking up. They’re people, citizens, and if Joe Accountant on the street is allowed to voice their opinion and openly support a cause, why can’t Jack Actor? There’s an uncomfortable amount of “your job is to act, not to preach politics and causes” and I’m like… yeah? And my job is bartending, maybe I should do that instead of supporting causes and speaking up about politics. Come on now.
