    I’m friends with a lot of Brits, so I think “sex” first, then “carpets”. I was too little for “shag” to register when it was a popular hairstyle; I just thought, “Oh, Carol Brady hair!”

    TV heartthrob has to be Aidan Turner. (Well, Benedict Cumberbatch didn’t have an on-screen wife in Sherlock).

    Can i also add… British ‘pissed’ = drunk, yes, but also British ‘pissed off’ = angry.

    ‘Shag’ here in the UK always means sex, in British tabloid-speak at least.

    In Canada “pissed” also means drunk. And when I hear shag, I think of sex. And I have NO idea who the blind is about.

    Well since it’s the U.K. I’ll say Ore Oduba. Looking at the photos of British celebrity “hunks” — they all look like pieces of too lean, grisly tritip that you have to spit out and can’t swallow.

      Dyer was my first guess, too, just because they said he was ‘pissed’. He’s no heartthrob, but he does have a kind of sleazy sex appeal that makes drunken hookups seem pretty feasible.

    I have no idea as to the people involved in this blind item, nor the show. However, being overseas for so long, I think of the word shag to mean having sex with someone. It’s only in the US where people speak of shag carpeting, which makes Brits laugh at the idea that there is a special type of carpet on which to have sex!

      I was raised in NC and spent my summers dancing The Shag at the beach. Can you imagine what folks must be thinking while driving into Myrtle Beach, SC with all of the billboards boasting about the Shagging Contests? Nonstop orgies! LOL

      OMG, when I was a kid I loved Shag: The Movie so much that I asked my dad to take us to Myrtle Beach for our summer road trip. I was truly disaappointed to not find any shag competitions there. But unlike the characters, we did make it to Ft. Sumpter.
