He Has Been In Treatment

[Lainey Gossip] You may have heard that he’s been scaling back on some of his work commitments, major projects that meant a lot to him. These are good decisions. Part of a series of better decisions that he’s been making lately. And the best decision is that he’s been in treatment.

Which is why he’s kept a relatively low profile. And the catalyst for that seems to be the person who’s always been a solid influence in his life. She told him she was ready to move forward and shortly after that, he left to get help, out of town where he’s had some success before. He briefly came home so that he could stand up for family recently but then went right back to focus on self-care. Which is why there’s been no comment on a recent rumour that he may be stepping back from his big role. They still want him but his focus right now is not on work and, for the time being, they’re respecting that.

    Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner. Realistically they need to be apart and allow time for Ben to get better for HIMSELF and nobody else. His substance addiction is one thing but his gambling addiction is a huge issue that has the potential to severely affect his children’s future (I hope Jennifer “owns” the family home that their children live in and she has her own money).

      You know, I don’t like to say whether or not he can stay sober in case he reads these comments (unlikely but still) and feels too much negativity which overwhelms him. I just hope he can do it for the little kids’ sake, as well as his and Jen’s. Nothing is worse than a drunk. Surely he must have an inkling of that by now?

    Optional: he’s been struggling with his addictions for years and will continue to struggle IMO. If he’s in rehab because she’s threatening divorce (AGAIN), then to me it indicates that he’s not getting sober for himself. He’s appeasing her. I hope so goes through with the divorce because she needs to move on. I can’t imagine being held hostage by someone’s sobriety.

      That has been the horrifying reality of my life for the last couple of years…I hope Jennifer files for divorce. She’d be a role model for me. She’s a great family person… so, it is important for people who prioritize family to leave, in some circumstances. Do it, Jen.
