Grammys Mean Girl

February 16, 2016 Blind Gossip

mean girls 5[Blind Gossip] Conversation at a Grammys after party. Thinking that this female singer was friendly with one of the evening’s performers, someone commented to her, “[Performer] really killed it tonight, didn’t she?” Singer sniffed and said, “Yeah… if ‘killing it’ means ‘beating it to death with a hammer’!” Then she laughed. Mean girl!

Are we even sure that we are talking about being critical about the performance? It could be about the acceptance speech that Taylor Swift gave. (She was one of the performers( Tori Kelly shaded her by looked unimpressed and all.

Come on Blinders: It’s absolutely Adele talking about Gaga and her Bowie performance. It’s very backhanded British humor. I can totally see Adele saying that with a smirk!

Sounds like taylor swift with the “mean” reference and the picture reminds me of her. What a little snot considering she had one of the weakest performances of the night.

Best performances imo: adele, tori kelly & james bay, demi lovato, hamilton, carrie underwood & sam hunt, and honestly i loved the acoustic opening justin bieber did

    IMHO
Best: the Lionel Richie tribute, Adele (even with the sound issues), Pentatonix with Stevie Wonder, BB King tribute, Alabama Shakes
Worst: Taylor Swift, Hollywood Vampires (sorry, not a fan), Little Big Town and Pitbull (what was that!)

    1st guess.Carrie Underwood
The lady who sang girl crush. From LBT.

    2nd.Selena Gomez
    Demi Lovato

Best was LBT. Demi Lovato. Elle Goulding and her duet partner. Eagles tribute. Kendrik Lamar and although not his voice, overall performance Biebs

Tay Tay about Adele’s horrendous performance.
It stank worse than the Blazing Saddles campfire scene and was nowhere near as entertaining! The piano snafu, that went away,is such a joke. Adele will not last the tour, more surgery on the way.

  32. Carolina Girl says

    February 16, 2016 at 12:11 pm

Taylor would be the singer who “killed it” and “beat it to death with a hammer” with her acceptance speech.

Maybe Demi, who really did kill it with her performance honoring Lionel Ritchie. That girl can really sing. And, she is very pretty.

  33. Virgo826 says

    February 16, 2016 at 12:10 pm

Kendrick Lamar was hands down the best performance of the night!! Amazing! I’m not a big fan of rap, could take it or leave it, but that performance had me looking up his library and downloading a bunch of his stuff. A close second for best was the BB King tribute by Chris Stapleton, Gary Clark Jr., and Bonnie Raitt.

Probably a tie for the worst…the super awkward Justin Bieber (pretending to play the guiter and then dancing (yikes!)) and the Grandpa Rock group, Hollywood Vampires

    Demi Lavato

  37. VioletBoo says

    February 16, 2016 at 11:47 am

Selena talking about Demi? I have no clue.
Almost everything was a mess. Imo the great performances were the Eagles tribute to Glenn Frey, Kendrick ( brilliant), Tori Kelly/James Bay duet and Chris Stapleton/Bonnie Raitt/Gary Clark Jr tribute. Taylor was awful, she just can’t sing well live (and her speech annoyed me, she should thank those gay dudes she fake dated and then trashed on her songs), Bieber was ridiculous and Lionel Richie had to listen to his songs being butchered.

  38. mangotea says

    February 16, 2016 at 11:47 am

Not sure who the singer was, but I’m positive this is about Taylor Swift. Talented writer, not so gifted with the vocals. Auto tune helps her immensely IMO.

I think the best performance of the night was Tori Kelly hands down! She is so gifted, and I’m so irritated Meghan Trainor got best new artist. Tori was robbed.

      February 17, 2016 at 2:53 am

This. “Performer” (as distinct from “Singer”) pretty much has to be Gaga, who can be seen as a performance artist and was doing a medley, not an individual song. And all the Bowie numbers slammed together kind of does qualify as “beat it to death with a hammer”.

Katy P deals in cheap shade, she had a twitter feud with Gaga last year before “making up” at the Met Gala, and the “Mean Girls” reference fits with her using it against Taylor Swift last year. Whatever, Katy Plastic…
