[Pop Bitch] Which journalist – the author of a recent hot take on the Weinstein scandal – caused a few raised eyebrows around his old newsdesk?
Some of his fanny-owning former colleagues have very specific memories of him turning up to their office parties and greeting them with a firm, Trump-style grab.

[Optional] If someone at work unexpectedly grabbed you by your private parts, how do you think you would react?
AHHAof3 says
I don’t think anyone has mentioned Michael Schmidt. He has written blistering emails on both Weinstein AND Bill O’Reilly this year. Just going rogue and gonna put my money on him.
AHHAof3 says
I’m sorry-I meant to say he’s written blistering ARTICLES, not emails.

If this were Piers Morgan , , I would say he ran up a huge Dry Cleaning bill because of the puke that landed on him after he did this ! I mean that guy ! That would be the first reaction of a female groped by him ! She would be to weak to muster up a slap ! Yes he has spent an inordinate amount of whatever on air time he can get nowadays defending the President to the mentally questionable denial point ! That guy is about as charming as watching a Warthog defecate !
Insiderher says
Ronan Farrow is gay. There’s no way on earth he’d be grabbing women, anywhere.
giggles says
Rupert Myers is a British journalist and recently deleted his twitter after standing up and applauding women for being brave for the #MeToo hashtag, only to then be called out for his sexual assault of another journalist. He apologized in DM, but it’s been revealed that he did this horrid type of thing to other women he worked with.
Optional: It’s hard to stand up to a boss since jobs pay rent. Married now and my SO is kick-ass so I tell him and he makes me tell HR, lol

Anderson Cooper?
Marvella says
I’m hoping it’s Ronan Farrow since he’s such a self-righteous little prig. I can’t imagine him doing that though.
Bushwalker says
People guessing to be Ronan Farrow are so funny. I didn’t know gay people walk around grabbing women’s private parts. Probably not in this universe. Yes, he did write an article about Weinstein in NYT, but why would a British gossip site care about? It must be a British journalist like Piers Morgan.
KyrasMaMa says
Optional: 17 yrs ago my boss (a school principal) grabbed a handful of hoohah as I walked into his office. I yelled what are you doing? He tried to excuse the incident and continued w/the meeting. I went home and cried. I told a co-worker; he reported it to HR. After months of ostracizing, victim blaming/shaming, he won the suit. I lost my job, was blackballed in ways and places I never imagined FOR YEARS. All because I spoke out about a “beloved man”. That’s why victims don’t speak up…
spaceship says
And you didn’t sue the scum?
ChattyCat says
I sued my employer for years of bullying. I won. The reprisal: further bullying. I turned up to work one day and NOONE would speak to me & access to the database central to my job was removed. I was invisible. All I could do was walk out. That was 6 yrs ago and I haven’t worked since…having developed several stress related illnesses. Years of academic excellence and professional experience down the drain.
Itsmaryk says
I’m so sorry this happened to you.

DarkEydDeviL says
I logged in just to comment and say I’m sorry that happened to you. You are 100% correct, that is why victims don’t speak up. Even without intending to, a sympathetic ear can say things like “what did you do to cause it?” Or “why didn’t you do this or that?” Anyway, I’m really sorry that happened and I hope you are doing better now.
artistsnow says
oh my gosh. What a DRAG! Good for you for speaking up however. That takes tremendous courage. I am sure he will get his in the end.
Avalokitesvara says
Dear KyrasMaMa,
I just read this. I am so sorry that this happened to you and you are correct in the reasoning as to why victims do not speak up. He knows he is wrong, he knows he is a lying POS and those who revere him know this too and it is all because of the power that he wields. He has done this to others who are afraid to speak up. Know this, they revere your courage, most of all, so does your daughter (as well as us here). Guaranteed, “beloved man” won’t be leaving this earth untouched!
Silverdun says
Oh Kyra, I feel for you. I worked for a guy who was an absolute letch, and the people above him KNEW to a degree as he had insulted customers, yet they glossed over it as he was good at his job (successful through bullying sales) when I complained about his grabbing hands I was treated the same as you, worst thing ever to be branded a liar. Proof is so important, yet so hard to get. I lost my job, yet I believe in karma. I heard their company went bust not long after. Still, it sucks.
KyrasMaMa says
@Spaceship – I did – even tho I knew it would turn out exactly as it did. He was a School Administrator, I was his newly-hired secretary. He had a long line of “character witnesses” that spoke to his charity, generosity and everything else and I had a co-worker who witnessed him blocking the doorway preventing me from leaving before he gave me a disgusting hug and smooch on my cheek and then watched me run out trying not to cry. I was blackballed for years because of that.
Superstition says
That’s exactly why I never reported the principal in the school where I was student teaching when I was just 22. He was a married father in his 50’s. He used to come into the classroom and tell filthy jokes. One day I was called into his office and he said some vile things about what he wanted to do to/with me that stopped me dead. I was utterly shocked and just left. I never told a soul because I knew it would turn out bad for me. Sorry you went through something so awful.
gingercat says
Obviously this is an Englishman since Ace used the word “Fanny” which means P###y in England. So, Piers Morgan?
aaaSeeK says
No, “fanny” means butt, actually.
RayneQueen says
Not in the UK
jbj2016 says
It’s a Pop Bitch (i.e. UK) blind item, so Gingercat is right that the Brit-slang definition of ‘fanny’, not the American one, is meant.
Vampira says
“Fanny” here means the bottom or backside, not the other.
Crazy_Cat_Lady_Says says
I didn’t know that’s what it meant in Britian. It means someone’s backside here.
Avalokitesvara says
Over in the UK fanny means P###y.
DebinCR says
Ronan Farrow.
I would reach out and grab their’s back but only harder and with a twist.
Heathersmist says
This!!! All so discustingly sad.
HDNYC09 says
Not Ronan. Pretty sure he’s gay, why would he be grabbing women by the p***y? Also, I’ve met him before at a social function and I definitely did not get this vibe from him at all. I know men like this who grope women and he is definitely not striking me as the type.
aaaTorr says
That’s got to be Piers Morgan.

Probably worth noting that this is from a British site and a fanny is a vagina in UK…

Ronan Farrow ?
I’d be outraged. Couldn’t they at least buy me a happy meal first?
Depends upon the setting and situation, and the person. A friend, drunk, at an office party can be forgiven. Anyone else at any other time, or in the workplace? Oh.. HE!! NO!

something like this happend to me once. it was my husbands childhood friend who grabbed me by the butt in my own kitchen. I turned around ans said if it will happen again I will smack him with first thing I can get and he can then explain his wife why I did it. I was very angry and when I ‘m angry people take me very serious so he run away.
after 10 Years and he still hates me.
If such thing would happen to me at work I would do the same, and next I would smack him with something. in his…

amagod121 says
You know, I have a funny feeling that this could be Piers Morgan. Didn’t he defend Harvey, sort of?
I would have gone and complained to his management and the police if nothing was done. And then the media. I am not shy when it comes to important matters, even ugly ones.
spaceship says
Idk the journalist, but I would smack the crap out of someone if they did that to me.
Baileygirl says
No idea on the journalist.
I’d slap their face HARD and make a scene. These creeps operate by relying on no one wanting to make a scene. I’d make a scene where there would be witnesses and call the police. What has happened to our collective dignity to think something like that is normal?
rockymtnRN says
Ronan
TheSalmon says
Gotta be Piers Morgan, but he is no journalist.
Cranny07 says
I used to worked in an area that was dominance by men. This guy was always very vile. Once he told one girl he like to measure her nipples with a caliper. He said something very vile to me as he sitting on an open barrel. I shoved him, he slipped in, as he was struggling to pull himself out, I picked up a 40 lb roll and put in on his stomach and walked away. We didn’t speak to each other for over a year. He did get fired, but it was a fault claim. Girl wanted his job as supervisor. Irony.
annabelle77 says
I would slap him, hard. And tell him loudly never to put his fuc*ing hands on me again, ever.

Ronan Farrow. I would probably say, “What the f*ck are you doing?”
KatarinaJ says
Honestly there is NO way it is him. I don’t buy it for a second. With his crusade and entire life destroyed by Woody Allen (supposedly) I can’t imagine this. I DO imagine sour grapes Woody-philes or Weinstein secret allies PLANTING this story as retaliation.

How would I react….”What the F is wrong with you” loudly
