September 27, 2017 Blind Gossip

[Blind Gossip] This famous acting family spans more than one generation. Some are more talented or famous than others.

[The patriarch of the family] is very ill. They are trying to keep it quiet so that the family can spend some private time with him, but they don’t expect him to make it through another year.

I’ll go with Martin Sheen (but the Howard family is a strong possibility too when you add on the granddaughter Bryce). If it ends up being Kirk Douglas, that would not be a shock (loved loved loved him as Izzy Mandelbaum on Seinfeld–always makes me laugh).

Maybe Clint Eastwood. I know Scott is an actor and I think his daughter may do a little acting.

I don’t know that it is Kirk, it says they are trying to keep it quiet that he is sick. Aren’t most of us kind of expecting him to dying at any minute? I think this is someone that we AREN’T expecting to die soon, thus keeping it quiet.

    I like the sheen guess.

Kirk Douglas. Check him out as part of an ensemble of 3 married couples in Letter to Three Wives. It’s funny, insightful, and has aged well for a film from the 50s

Michael Douglas? Martin Sheen? (Can’t think of anyone else but I’m pretty sure I’m wrong…)

If Douglas – I saw Romancing the Stone when I was young and LOVED it! Probably doesn’t hold up, but still colored by warm and fuzzy nostalgia.
If Sheen – Young Guns. For pretty much the same reason – and as a bonus you get TWO members of the famous acting family!

Sounds like Kirk Douglas. It’s his time – he was born in 1916, for crying out loud! He was born during WWI! Hope he passes peacefully. Making it to 100 years old is impressive enough.

Not really a fan of his or Michael. I enjoyed The Final Countdown, from 1979. Fatal Attraction with Michael was okay. Kirk is 100 years old, so the family should’ve seen this coming decades ago and already been prepared for the inevitable.

    • PrincessConnie1 says

      September 28, 2017 at 2:30 pm

No matter how young or old, sick or healthy one cannot truly prepare for the inevitable, death – part of the cycle of life. As human beings I do not think we can ever fully prepare for the loss of a loved one. We will always want “just one more day” with them. My brother dropped dead of a heart attack at the age of 36, didn’t see it coming & it devastated us. My mom died from cancer, age of 72, we watched her deteriorating & the day she passed was still very painful. It’ s a loss no matter…

    • CindyB says

      September 29, 2017 at 7:21 am

I am incredibly fortunate that my grandmother is nearly 102 years old and in remarkably good health. Even so, I realize that death could be any time for any reason; however, my mental preparation for it will not make her passing any easier or any more “expected” — if that makes sense. I appreciate what you wrote; I just don’t believe it’s (the death of an aged loved one) so cut and dry.

I hope I’m wrong. Kirk Douglas passing away will be no shock to anyone, he’s lived a long life, so I doubt it’s him.
