[Blind Gossip] These two famous male actors are working the circuit extra hard for their new movie. Like, desperately hard. There’s a reason for that.

This isn’t the usual promotional circuit. They are both feeling a lot of pressure. [Actor 1] has had several flops in a row. [Actor 2] has been sticking his foot in his mouth every five minutes. They are both on the wrong side of the Weinstein mess and they know it, so they are on the defense from that, too. This movie is going to flop. They have to go through the motions of marketing it, but they are both unhappy and desperate to move on.

    Clooney (the man with all the flops) and Damon (who has put his foot in his mouth a few times). Movie is Suburbicon. Looks like another fascinating flop for Clooney.
    They knew what was happening. Everyone in H’Wood did. Anyone trying to play dumb should be called out.

    Matt Damon once said that gay actors in Hollywood should stay closeted for their careers. Not that Hollywood homophobia needs to die and gay actors should do whatever the f*** they want, so he’s been a jerk for awhile. As far as Clooney…. there’s just so many layers of fake there to even bother. Nope, will definitely skip this movie.

    Clooney the liar (he’s gay and covering it up) and Damon. Film — Suburbicon. Not at all interested in this film that is rated 38/100 on rotten tomatoes. The bad reviews are written better than the movie script. “What we don’t need are more movies that treat black characters as props and backdrops for stories about white people, and black pain as entertainment and education for white people.” great quote from RT.

    I am loving the fall of the pretentious Hollywood actor… these people who stand on a stage handing out awards to each other and tell us how to live. LOL! Loving this.

    I rarely see films in theatres anymore, unless it needs the big screen (Dunkirk) or I’m too excited to wait (Moonlight). Too many great options on TV/streaming to deal w the hassle and expense of the movie theatre.

    My inclination would be to guess Johnny Depp and Kenneth Branaugh though I don’t know what Branaugh has said to get into trouble.

    I was looking forward to Orient Express because I loved the original so much.

    Used to think people would be disappointed in Depp’s character. Now I think it will get cheers (no spoilers)

    Those 2 dumbazzes Clooney and Damon. I don’t have any intention of seeing their new movie and the last Clooney movie I watched was the Perfect Storm. Plus, I don’t buy the happily married daddy act from him either. Matt is ok, just seems to float along, although I loved his guest stint on Will & Grace many years ago.

    Former seems like another “Honey I Shrunk ___” installment, while latter has been derided as “Coens lite” (and I understand the original script was one they tossed aside?). Either way, I can wait for streaming on both.

      but yeah, both movies are going to flop for Matt. Last good movie George did was Monuments Men, and even that was maybe 10-15% true. because Hollywood.
      (and because actual squad was like 300, not a small group like Dirty Dozen.)

    George Clooney and Matt Damon promoting Suburbicon – easy peasy for me. I think either one could be either actor 1 or 2 at this point. So sick of the hypocrisy in Hollywood! Them coming out now pretending to be so outraged with Weinstein is all BS. They made lots of money working with HW, and their careers took off. I won’t be seeing any more of their movies. Send a message – boycott their movies, and any of the actors who knew and looked the other way. Shameful.

They know the public is getting a huge whiff of their phoniness and they are in a full-blown panic.       And YES, they’re both preachy and fake — great way to describe how I feel too. I can’t forget Damon mansplaining diversity in film to a black woman filmmaker. And Clooney — I liked him before Amal. Not to drag in Amal, but she seems more into being famous, which makes me sideeye why George is with her. Don’t even get me started on Affleck. Hollywood is so gross.

    I can’t fit the desperate into the blind as it’s mentioned a couple of times .
    Optional… it’s not a film I fancy . I’d rather watch the My Little Pony that’s just out here in the UK.
