Comeback Kid

June 21, 2016 Blind Gossip

casting call 3[Blind Gossip] Lots of movies seem to be franchises or remakes these days, but the casting of this film may take you by surprise!

This actor is known for having starred in this film series/franchise years ago. He has been asked in interviews if he would come back and play that character again. He always smiles and says “No.”

We are now hearing that he is making very quiet inquiries as to whether they would want him back as the star! This would be a very surprising move. How old is too old to play the lead character?

Chris Lambert in Highlander? I thought Endgame pretty much ended that part of his career.

or Clancy Brown has asked to return not as Kurgan, but as Ramirez. I also saw today that he was buddying up to Kevin Smith who is working on the Buckaroo Banzai reboot at Edinburgh IFF.

Only one that comes to mind “smiles and says “no”” is Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter. Indeed, a new book is coming out together with a musical in London… but a movie?

I can’t think of any other franchise/film series that had a actor starring there years ago. Pierce Brosnan looks too old to play 007.

Zac Efron, High School Musical? If that’s it, they should really just let it die. I highly doubt the original kids who watched the movies back then give a * about it now, and the kids of today couldn’t care less about that genre.

Harrison Ford and the Indiana Jones series. He was well received in Star Wars. I wouldn’t mind seeing him as Indy again, as long as it’s a good script and he doesn’t try to act like he is under 35 in it. 🙂

That won’t happen. He has advanced Parkinson’s Disease. He may be able to do the odd guest appearance on TV shows (i.e. The Good Wife), but, chances are, he will never play a lead role in a feature film again. He hasn’t been in any movies (except for voice work) since the mid 90’s.

Ford says he is only coming back one last time because he knows Spielberg will do right by the character — and Spielberg has promised Indy will not die bc so many people are upset that they killed off Han Solo in the last Star Wars.
