couple-awkward-2[Blind Gossip] Two industry folks are letting us know that what you are seeing during the promotions of this film is very unusual… and might actually hurt the film’s success at the box office!

From a cast/crew member:

I’ve been on a lot of movie sets during a lot of potentially uncomfortable sex scenes.  These two are both pros and knew the drill. The scenes were choreographed, rehearsed several times, and went off without a hitch. For her to now act all coy and say it was awkward like she wants to distance herself from him doesn’t match what I saw.

From a publicist:

During promotions they should be emphasizing the closeness and the real emotional connection between the two leads. That’s what people want to see and that’s what sells a film. In this case, they are very distant and dismissive of their personal relationship. It’s an odd choice and does not serve the film well.

Maybe this has something to do with his divorce?

    Marion and Brad. Saw her on Stephen Colbert. She wasn’t even trying to sell the movie. Or even be an entertaining guest. She said two words then shut her mouth and looked like she had more important things to attend to than talking to the host. Waste of time to see her and I wont see the movie either

    The husband actor interacts with his co-star actress, a romantic relationship occurred, maybe. So reminiscent of that other movie that launched Brangelina. I think that Brad and Angie are painfully aware and are trying to stay ahead of people enjoying their schadenfreude while yelling karma. And a baby to boot. This movie is DOA. They don’t want Mr. & Mrs. Smith Part 2. It’s sad how actors ruin films with sex and their politics.

    Marion & Brad filming Allied. Does anyone blame Marion from trying to distance herself from that sex scene now that Brad’s ex wife is on a psychotic rampage to try and destroy his life. Who would want to be caught in the cross-hairs of Saint Psycho? Poor Brad, Poor Marion both need to sleep with one eye open, Angelina has shown she will go to any length and sink to any low to exact her vicious and vile revenge. I’m surprised the crew hasn’t worked out her motives for saying what she did.

    Brad and Marion, personally I don’t like BP films best he has done Benjamin button but I really want to see this film when it’s out the plot line intrigues me more than the actors

    It’s not bc of the divorce, it’s bc she’s being blamed for having a hand in the divorce. She’s married and pregnant with her husband’s baby and doesn’t want the media making it seem otherwise. Completely understandable, and respectable that she values her family over how much a movie makes.

      She isn’t married. He is supposedly some long term boyfriend. This little baby will look a lot like Shiloh.

      Point is they’ve been together since 2007 and already have one child together. A serious relationship even if not married on paper.

    Of their sex scenes in the movie, she said at a press conference, “It’s an awkward situation. We laughed because . . . this is so weird . . . And then we go into this, and then I’m going on top of you, and then we are going to kiss.”

    No, what got him a divorce was him being a drunk angry old man, going nose-to-nose with his son ,putting his hands on him,having dcfs and FBI rain down upon his family. That’s why he looks manorexic, he knows he effed up. He lost his family.

    there’s nothing that they can do at this point. it’s not doing well because of the cheating rumors more than likely so being chummy and close isn’t going to help it.

      It hasn’t even been released yet so it’s not doing well or poorly as of yet. The concern however, is that it will do poorly after it’s Wednesday release, due to how it’s being promoted.

    Don’t tell me this is about Allied. Marion – “doth protest too much” perhaps out of guilt? Or Brad has asked her to downplay the scenes because of the divorce and again guilt perhaps? But if you avoid the questions from the media regarding the scenes you also look guilty. If she is completely innocent in this, she has been put in an awkward position.

    They are both actors, so they need to act. My guess is that the impending divorce and claims of an alleged affair probably plays a large part.

    Idk if I really blame her. Angie would not be someone I would want pissed off at me. Plus the alleged affair and baby rumors. It’s just best to lay low and try to stay out of the Brangelina drama. I think she’s smart.

    What is their deal? Brad is acting like some whipped wimp and caving to psycho Angelina’s whims. Dude, stand up for yourself and up to Angelina. Marion is pretty much staying out of the fray. They need to both get over themselves and sell this movie…

    They need to SELL the movie. So they need to say whatever will convince people to watch it. Play up the sex! Why not?

    Their affair on set –> Cotillard gets pregnant in February before her partner had even visited the set yet. Timeline shows Pitt impregnated Cotillard.

    The baby is Pitt’s.

    Marion and Brad. Watching them do their promotional appearances reminds me of the promos for Mr. and Mrs. Smith with Pitt standing awkwardly near Angie. There’s also a baby that we are all to believe is from some boyfriend that’s not been mentioned. I think she also dated or had an affair with Johnny Depp. She’s gorgeous, quirky, interesting. If I were a guy, I would want to date her, too. Plus, Angie was actually directing his every move on the set of that movie. What partner can handle…

    Optional: It’s a tricky situation considering Marion was the first one blamed by the press for the breakup of Bradgelina. If I were advising them, I’d tell them to emphasize the historical influence of their roles and their appreciation of the real life men and women who contributed to our victory in WWII. Praise the heroes of the past and wish that the film inspires others to learn more about the topic.
