His Two Secrets

[Blind Gossip] This foreign-born movie actor had a serious problem that he hid for years.

He was a terrible alcoholic.

He is vague about how he got sober, but does mention rehab and AA.

It’s actually more interesting than that.

He hasn’t really talked about another significant influence around that time.

It turns out that one of his costars – who is a huge American movie star – intervened.

He did [a movie] with [Movie Star] and [Movie Star] could tell that he was suffering. He invited him over to [his church] and had some people talk to him. [Foreign] wound up getting a little more deeply involved with the church than he likely intended to.

So did Foreign go through the church’s detox program? And is Foreign now a full-blown member of the church?

It’s hard to tell. He’s dodgy about it. He does still go there occasionally. Don’t know if he goes because he’s into it or if he goes because he feels obligated or grateful to [Movie Star].

There are other famous actors who have been members of the church but who have also been dodgy about it (or flat-out lied about it), so it is not impossible to imagine that Foreign is doing the same.

So, while his alcoholism is no longer a secret, his relationship with the church remains a secret.

    Good for him for fighting his personal demons, not sure he’s chosen the best way possible, religions could be bonkers

    Whoever the foreign actor is, he’s probably been sucked in by those people as they do not want you to leave. They love to blackmail people so even if he is a member, he may not want to be.

    He’s now probably caught up in Scientology

    Shot in the dark but I think this may be Simon Pegg. I remember reading an article where he talked about rehab. He also seems cagey when interveiwers ask him about his friendship with Tom Cruise and what he thinks about Scientology

    Minority Report – I don’t think he’s a Scientologist. But I think it does have a program for addicts that seems to be successful – whether placebo or not.

    This is about Scientology. I wouldn’t join the church but have been told over and over again that their classes are really really good – espceially if you are battling alcoholism or drugs.

    Always suspicious about Pegg’s alcoholism confession. It came so out of the blue. He never seemed to have classic hallmarks of it. Almost as if it was a cover for something else…

      You mean his PDAs with Nick Frost?
      Nick plays up to his Bear fanbase. Simon has avoided anything like that, as he stated sometime back they did it to show two men can show affection for each other and not be “gay.” Most of their fans think they’ve “dabbled” which each other, however. Both are married to women, not sure of child/ren?

    I think the actor is the utterly unfunny but thinks he’s hilarious Simon pegg who has been in the news this week saying Tom has been remarking on his new 8 pack. So Tom cruise obvs. Not sure if he’d be into the scientology but you never can tell!

    Do you think Foreign is a member? Not sure but having lived with an alcoholic the foreign actor was given a real gift. It gets very ugly if you cannot get sober. It will break your heart it is so hard to watch.
