FKA Twigs is a singer and actress. She starred in movie titled Honey Boy with Shia LaBeouf. The two began dating.

Your friends at Blind Gossip told that their relationship was a disaster and that LeBoeuf’s  behavior was so frightening and violent that Twig’s family and friends begged her to leave him.

It took over a year, but she finally did leave him.

Twigs went on to date Robert Pattinson, best known for his role as Edward Cullen in the Twilight film franchise.

While Twilight fans criticized her relationship was with Pattinson, their frustration likely stemmed from the fact that they were still hanging on to the hope that Pattinson would end up with his former Twilight costar, Kristen Stewart.

Anyway, Pattinson’s calm behavior was actually a relief and a respite from the turmoil of Twigs’ relationship with LeBoeuf.

In fact, their relationship was so positive that Pattinson and FKA Twigs ended up getting engaged!

Let’s go back to her relationship with Shia LeBoeuf.

FKA Twigs recently sat down for a conversation with Elle Magazine to detail her relationship with LeBoeuf.

It’s a miracle I came out alive,” says FKA twigs. The British singer, born Tahliah Debrett Barnett, has spent the last hour painfully recounting the abuse she endured for nearly a year at the hands of her former boyfriend and Honey Boy costar, Shia LaBeouf.

She is explaining the “calculated, systematic, tricky, and mazelike” tactics LaBeouf would use to control her—the love bombing, the gaslighting, the social isolation, the sleep deprivation. “If you put a frog in a boiling pot of water, that frog is going to jump out straightaway,” she says, attempting to explain the incremental and insidious nature of the abuse. “Whereas if you put a frog in cool water and heat it up slowly, that frog is going to boil to death. That was my experience being with [LaBeouf].”

In case you are not familiar with the expression “love bombing”, it is when someone “overwhelms you with loving words, actions, and behavior as a manipulation technique.”

The person doing the “love bombing” is frequently a narcissist looking to ingratiate themselves with you in order to eventually control your behavior.

As the lawsuit describes, he enacted a “charm offensive” shortly after meeting twigs that seemed straight out of a movie: professing he “loved her” a mere week or two into their relationship, and jumping over the fence of her London home to leave her love notes and flowers. When they hit a rough spot later in their relationship, the actor went overboard in his attempts to win her back. “He would send me between 10 and 20 bunches of flowers a day for 10 days.

The emotional, verbal, and physical violence that twigs experienced during the course of their abusive relationship came to a head over Valentine’s Day weekend in 2019 after she and LaBeouf traveled to a hotel spa.

The details of that fateful night are outlined in a shocking civil lawsuit she filed against the actor in December of last year.

As she alleges in the complaint, after drifting off to sleep in the hotel, the singer awoke to find LaBeouf atop her, violently squeezing her arms. Putting his hands around her neck and beginning to strangle her, he whispered, “If you don’t stop, you are going to lose me.”

The next morning, she claims, the abuse continued when LaBeouf threw her to the ground outside their hotel. Once inside his car and headed back to LaBeouf’s Los Angeles home, she says the actor began driving maniacally, demanding that twigs profess her love for him.

As he swerved into traffic at an alarming speed, with cars beeping around them, twigs recalls bracing for the impact of the imminent crash. “I was thinking to myself, ‘I wonder what would happen to my body…if [we] smashed into a wall at 80 miles per hour?’

FKA Twigs eventually left LeBoeuf.

I ask the singer how she narrowly survived this abusive relationship. “I think it’s luck,” she says with a sigh. “I honestly wish I could say that I found some strength and I saw this light. I wish I could say, ‘[It is] a testament to my strong character,’ or ‘It’s the way my mother raised me.’ It’s none of that. It’s pure luck that I’m not in that situation anymore.”

As already mentioned above, Twigs decided to take legal action against LaBoeuf. Twigs hired a well-respected attorney named Bryan Freedman and filed the lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court.

She originally tried to settle matters privately with LaBeouf, approaching him with her list of demands after the relationship had dissolved: He would need to (1) Seek meaningful and consistent professional help to address his issues around abuse; (2) Donate money to an abused women’s shelter; and (3) Admit he had given twigs an STD and promise transparency around his sexual health status to future sexual partners.

It’s interesting to note that Twigs did not appear to be seeking any financial compensation for herself.

But negotiations originally stalled, with both parties’ legal teams claiming the other was to blame. Twigs’ lawyer Bryan Freedman put out a statement recently, saying LaBeouf was initially unwilling “to receive meaningful and consistent psychological treatment,” while the actor’s new legal representative, Shawn Holley, told Variety that “Shia immediately accepted responsibility for the many things he had done wrong,” and it was twigs’s legal team that canceled mediation.

In early 2021, LaBeouf reportedly started receiving in patient treatment and agreed to mutually part ways with his talent agency CAA.

So LaBeouf eventually did go to “rehab” and is no longer represented by a top Hollywood talent agency. Although it does not erase his torment of FKA Twigs, it is two steps in the right direction.

This blind item was originally published a couple of years ago. Since then, FKA Twigs and Robert Pattinson have broken up and moved on.
