Tears After Announcement

[Blind Gossip] This woman wept after hearing the list of Oscar nominees.

She’s not going to admit it, but she was up most of the night waiting for the announcement. When they said her name, she immediately burst into tears and didn’t stop crying for ten minutes. She was so overwhelmed, she could not even speak.

Yes, she got a nomination. Good for her!

    Margot Robbie said she cried after hearing about her nomination but I think this is Allison Janney. She’s never been nominated before and the bit about not admitting she was up all night waiting for it sounds like her. idk what her chances are but I hope she wins, I love her!!

    I think she is such a versatile actress. It’s hard to believe this is her first (first?) Oscar nod.

    I’m guessing Margot Robbie. She’s the only one of the lead acting nominees who has not been nominated before, and the picture kind of looks like her.

    I want to say it’s Greta Gerwig since they didn’t say it was an actress, but we’ll see.

    Her chance is zero sadly. Her performance was dynamic. And she even produced that movie. Frances will win this one.

    I’m going to guess best director nominee Greta Gerwig since the clues say “woman” instead of actress and the cartoon image is blonde like Gerwig.
    I have no idea if she should win or not. I chose about 15 years ago to only watch movies on TCM. lol

    I’d say Margot Robbie, since she’s the only lead actress w/o a nomination.

    I hope she gets some recognition, she did a great job. There is also the fact that the Academy awards actors that they feel “got their due” sometimes, but that would be surprising in this case as although Saorise is wonderful and has been nominated 3x, she’s only 23 (agh!     She has a small chance of winning because the field is strong this year. Her stunningly beautiful looks might work against her, but Hollywood likes when beauties kinda ugly it up for a role. Looking at you Charlize Theron.. she’s so not a Monster IRL.

      Heaven knows this chick loves to cry. Amazing singer but her songs are ALWAYS melancholy.

    Margot Robbie. She might get the Oscar because she uglied herself up for the role. That tends to get an actress the statue. Though Sally Hawkins from the Shape of Water deserves to get the award. Apart from one song she never opened her mouth and was able to portray so many emotions.

      She is also a producer, so I reckon ‘I, Tonya’ is a passion projecto, it makes sense it’s her.

      Frances McDormand has so far won every major best actress award of the season, and is highly favoured to win. At the Golden Globes, in the comedy category (which Frances wasn’t in) Saoirse Ronan won over Margot Robbie. I think she will have to be happy with the nomination.

    I’m going with Margot Robbie since she’s blonde and has played a comic book character. Most of the other nominees have had multiple nominations, so I doubt they’d be tearful.

    She was great. The movie was surprisingly entertaining. Totally deserving of a nomination. No way she beats out Frances or Saiorse though.

    Odds: eh, she already won. I’d bet on Mary J. Blige getting the “diversity votes”.

    Greta Gerwig for Best Director – snubbed at the Globes, she was sure to score the nom now. Good for her is right! Only 5 women have ever been nominated for this award.

      Oh, clever! It never says that [name] was nominated, just that she was “hearing the list of nominees”. And that she got teary “when they said her name”.

      So Tonya, whose name is in the title, would fit here. And she’s blonde.

      Hilarious that she should be crying when the famous memory of the incident is *Nancy Kerrigan* in tears. What goes around…

      But the last line says she was nominated. What would Tonya Harding be nominated for? And why would she be so touched that another person got a nomination just because it’s a story about her? Doesn’t make sense to me.
