[Blind Gossip] This very fit celebrity recently had an interesting encounter with her personal trainer.
Although she had been paying the trainer for multiple sessions a week (at a couple of hundred dollars a pop), she suddenly stopped!
She told the trainer that she knew they were telling other people that she was a client so that they could book new clients. Since she thinks her name is very valuable, she told the them that it was only right that all of her sessions be free from now on or else she would find another trainer and demand that the current trainer stop using her name.
The celebrity is now getting free personal training.

[Optional] Cheap or good business sense?

Julianne Hough
Totally cheap. I think she should def get a discount for sure, but not free. I even cringed reading it.

Christina El Moussa. Otherwise it would have specified actress or singer, it just says celebrity.
If her trainer is name dropping and getting more clients, then yeah, I’d ask them to stop. I would not demand free services though, I find that a little tacky. If it were to that degree of an issue, I’d just find another trainer. And if I were fit enough that my trainer name drops me to get more business, then I’d consider this whole thing a first world problem and I’d be flattered.

Kate Hudson or Julianne Hough
Optional: I think it’s okay to a point. A few free lessons in exchange for name dropping seems fair. Endless free sessions is excessive to me. I also think it was unprofessional of the trainer to attempt to build a business by using the client’s name without asking first.

I guess if they were using her name, without talking to her beforehand, you get what you get. I say good business sense.
No idea about who it could be though. Gwyneth Paltrow? Someone from the kardashians? Kate Beckinsale?
anarchistlibrarian says
this seems fair. if the client’s name is really drawing in new business and the trainer used it without permission, to me it would be a no-brainer!
(i don’t know to whom the blind refers, though.)
Panda says
No idea who this is, but using her name quasi as an uncontracted endorsement is naughty, especially without asking her first. She has a right to privacy and they were double dipping financially. I say good business sense and fair enough to her.

Celebrity (didn’t say actress, pop star, singer, model etc so not known for special talent?)
Khloe K (is she one with weight loss or fitness reality show?
Could be seen as good business or cheap. I would’ve asked for discount and or priority booking over any new clients. If they’re a really good trainer and loyal it’s a win win. This celebrity must’ve known they’re name would be used and had this planned. Privacy is protected with some form of nondisclosure agmt. Maybe the trainer…

I honestly don’t think she’d think of it. What about Vanessa Hudgens? She seems like she might tag into that…and she was just featured for toning up.
Catfink says
On one hand, I can understand her being annoyed, but on another…she can AFFORD a trainer, so is it fair for this person to have to service her for free? If he’s getting that much business from working with her and can offset the costs, then fine. But if she’s taking up his time then he deserves to get paid.

Jessica Alba maybe? She seems very business minded and might do this.
I don’t think it’s fair. Sure, give her a discount or some perks, but most companies are free to boast who their big name clients are and don’t have to give them totally free services.

Blake Lively – Don Saladino?
rorythedragon says
Ok, so she’s shelling out $600 a week for training, which makes it a smart business deal for her. The trainer gets to use her name freely to bring in new clients, but would have to bring in 12 new clients a month, based solely on her name, to break even. So the question is, is her name worth $2400/month or could the trainer pay a PR person the same amount and bring in a dozen new people based on the trainer’s own skills and talents? Btw, I have no idea who this is.

No idea who this is but I agree with her. You can’t use someone’s name like it’s an endorsement without her permission.
