Yet.

This TV host messed up… but he can’t fix his mess the normal way!

He hasn’t quit and he hasn’t been fired. The headlines are bull.

The legal issue isn’t even in question here. First of all, he is under contract, so he CAN’T just up and quit.

Secondly, he violated his contract, so he CAN be fired.

HE KNOWS ALL THIS.

He’s in a bad position, but he can’t get out of it the normal way (which is to apologize to the network and change the content). If he does that, he’ll probably be accused of selling out and lose face.

So he took a legal issue and turned it into a social issue to get public support.  He’s acting like he’s on some moral high ground (Racism! First amendment!) because he wants other people to jump in and accuse the company of racism and threaten to boycott and use all sorts of SJW tactics.

This isn’t a social issue. This is a legal issue. It’s a simple contract violation that could have been remedied, but now he’s twisting it and making it ten times bigger and taking this scorched earth approach that makes the company look bad and makes it hard to deal with him in an amicable fashion.

Oh, and here’s something interesting: We know for a FACT that he wants to keep this job because it’s an easy gig with a big paycheck. We just all need to figure out a way to allow him to save face without burning the company.

    Nick Canon!

    Amnesia, baaaybaah! The Soaps use it and so can Nick! He’ll claim he got into a terrible fight with an X (no names but we all know who he means) and she threw a vase at his head, knocking him out. When he wakes up, he remembers nothing and just starts babbling while at work. And babbling some more until Voila! he suddenly regains his memory! And puts the story on a gossip site to let it grow and gain truthiness to it.

    It seems like Nick Cannon has dual personas – the family friendly host and his comedy which is contrary to the former. I can’t believe NBC wasn’t aware of his comedy – makes you wonder which is closer to his authentic self.

    Cannon sold his soul for the paycheck, but, after a while, sometimes you have to decide if it’s worth it. He has kids to support… isn’t likely to get a cushy steady well-paying gig doing comedy/movies with his more edgy self. Stupid to bite hand that feeds you &…

    Nick Cannon trying to act all “black”–he is the whitest black guy alive. He needs to get better advice. Cannon does not have much talent and his standup up is a page from Eddie Murphy

    How would you fix this? How do you think this will end? Probably a dismissal “Billy Bush style”with a public statement from network bigwig how great Nick was and they wish him the best..blah blah and generous severance package so the network keeps their fanbase. With Nick promising 2keep quiet..Everybodys happy moving on the end!! Nicks already causing distraction by shading Mariahs reality show and new boy toy& ex fiance as a producer calling it all fake..lol

    “that makes the company look bad and makes it hard to deal with him in an amicable fashion.” NBC makes NBC look bad. This isn’t the first time they’ve been in racially charged dealings and it won’t be the last. What exactly was the contract violation? It never was mentioned because if it was the joke, this brings validity to his side, even if his tactics are trashy.

    I think they’ll mend fences and if not, Ryan will behave like the slime ball he is and find a way to be…

    Fix it? I’d sit him down, give him the facts of life & either fire him or offer him a significant cut in pay–depending on what the network really wanted out of it. There are a lot of people who want the job & they will do a great job for less money.

    I’d say see you in court, then hire someone more popular. As to how it will end… No idea. But I wouldn’t be surprised if Nick returned to the show with some “It’s all good” press release.

    I think he will be shown the door, which is a shame because he is very good in this position. I think what many of these celebs think is that their opinion matters when in all reality, no one wants to hear it. People watch shows for entertainment and to escape what is going on in the real world, even if it is for an hour and as of late, there has been zero entertainment and a lot of spouting off. A lot of biting the hand that feeds them. Not sure what Nick has to fall back on.

    Nick should give a brief apology, then move on, however he’s been harping on it on social media, and now seems to be in a bit of a pickle. I didn’t see much sympathy or support for him earlier today. I imagine he will end up keeping his job. The network won’t want to be labeled as racist. The incident will probably just be buried.

    The simple solution is to say that he was mislead by someone he trusted at the time, and believed the misinformation. He has apologized to the network for creating an issue when none actually existed and the Network has accepted his apology and is eager to work with him on the next season of their hit show.

    Optional: Not sure how it can be salvaged. Once the boss has been dissed, it’ll be tough for the boss to be the one to give in. NBC probably can find a replacement in a heartbeat if it wanted. Question is: do they want to?

    Trying/playing the race card is not good. He needs to go. He is replaceable. It may take a minute to get the audience to adjust, but it happens … onto the next.

    He should apologize to his bosses, and be done with it.

    I would let him go. Most of the comments I’ve , people think he sounds like a fool anyway. It’s a family show , so they don’t want to be associated with that mess.

Most of those personality/host contracts include clauses that state the personality represents teh employer and should be careful of doing anything that would embarrass them… Sounds like that’s exactly what he did, and he’s just digging himself deeper and deeper…

    Nick Cannon is a joke. I know how NBC should fix it – fire him for violating his contract and get someone else to replace him, which shouldn’t be very difficult.
    He’s not quick-witted, he’s not talented and he’s not particularly engaging.
    He should just take his Mariah money and go away.
