Crossover Affair

couple-kissing-29[Blind Gossip] There are two television shows coming from the same production team that will be returning to the air this fall. Both have ensemble casts.

They have been talking about how to stir up interest in the shows. One way is to pretend that two actors on the show are involved in some sort of romance.

However, that only helps one show.

Know what would be even better? Faking romance with an actor from one show and an actress from a different show… and then doing a crossover episode where their characters mix it up as well!

There are a lot of moving parts here, so we have our doubts as to whether they can pull this off. They would have to find a willing actor and actress; they would need to be single; their shows would have to be crossoverable (we just made up that word); and their characters would need to have chemistry.

    isn’t this the last season for Vampire Diaries? SPN’s Jensen Ackles has said he wants the Winchesters rolling into town as their (TVD) final scene. not sure who’s on TVD except Ian Somerholder, who I think was on Smallville at same time with Jensen?

    Beyond that, I can see Fear and TWD crossover. maybe Abraham’s Army ran across those idiots when Eugene gave them wrong directions? We could see the names Rosita listed off to Abe who they lost before meeting up with Glenn.

      They already did this one. It didn’t last very long, but not many romances on these shows seem to. They also don’t give them a lot of airtime. It seems to be an obligatory element but the focus is usually elsewhere.

    Somehow ‘The Walking Dead’ and the execrable, horrible ‘Fear The Walking Dead’ come to mind. The latter is badly in need of a boost, it’s so bad.

    Will they be able to pull this off? Since I am a fan of these shows, I hope so. It would be interesting to see.

    How to Get Away With Murder + Grey’s Anatomy

    I don’t overwhelmingly “like” any of the characters from either show, but I’m guessing Alex Karev’s legal trouble on Grey’s is the jumping off point for the crossover.

    This sounds like an hour of 80’s-90’s television.
    I’m guessing some supernatural show with the closets door firmly shut.

    Optional: Both are married. I don’t see this happening.

    This sounds like the spinoff Blacklist show “the Tom Show” NBC seems to be trying in vain to promote this crapfest at the expense of the original show. What a mess.

    Grant Gustin from Flash Flash and Melissa Benoist from Supergirl.

    Yeah, sure, they can pull it off. Why not? They did have chemistry the first time they did a crossover when Supergirl on CBS…

    James Pickens aka Dr. Webber on Grey’s and Viola Davis aka Annalise Keating on HTGAWM came to mind first but they’re both married.
    Not a big fan of the crossovers. Especially not in Shondaland.
