[Blind Gossip] Lots of movies seem to be franchises or remakes these days, but the casting of this film may take you by surprise!
This actor is known for having starred in this film series/franchise years ago. He has been asked in interviews if he would come back and play that character again. He always smiles and says “No.”
We are now hearing that he is making very quiet inquiries as to whether they would want him back as the star! This would be a very surprising move. How old is too old to play the lead character?

Pierce Brosban

He’s too old the way they changed the character into a Jason borne wannabe

Only one that comes to mind “smiles and says “no”” is Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter. Indeed, a new book is coming out together with a musical in London… but a movie?
I can’t think of any other franchise/film series that had a actor starring there years ago. Pierce Brosnan looks too old to play 007.
DivaKarma says
I’m feeling Ralph Machio in the Karate Kid
CevansLeftpec2 says
Zac Efron, High School Musical? If that’s it, they should really just let it die. I highly doubt the original kids who watched the movies back then give a * about it now, and the kids of today couldn’t care less about that genre.
IthinkIcan says
Original kids who watched HSM still love it, it gets high ratings for Disney Channel everytime it comes on, plus they’re already working on HSM 4

Harrison Ford and the Indiana Jones series. He was well received in Star Wars. I wouldn’t mind seeing him as Indy again, as long as it’s a good script and he doesn’t try to act like he is under 35 in it. 🙂

I am probably way off on this…I’m really new to it… but here’s my guess!!
Film: Bond, James Bond (My last name is Bond! The joke constantly asked of me is “Are you married to James?” Everyone thinks they are so creative asking me it lol.)
Actor: Daniel Craig
[Optional] Good choice or too old? My husband LOVES him as James Bond… and i’m sure would love him no matter how old he got. I’d say bring in a new, younger one!

Film: Indiana Jones series

adr1s says
I want to say Daniel Radcliffe as HP but if this were to happen, Harry would need to be in his thirties or early 40s so “too old” doesn’t fit.
Maybe Robert Pattinson for Twilight? It would be VERY surprising because he hates it but he hasn’t got a lot of work lately
MizGrandma says
Sean Connery is never too old. Ditto for Pierce Brosnan & Roger Moore. Since I’m in my 8 th decade it is getting difficult to find leading men who appeal to me, & I’ll always think of Brosnan as a kid.

I don’t know if they are making this, but I’d love another Back to the Future with Michael J. Fox.
rhiannon14 says
That won’t happen. He has advanced Parkinson’s Disease. He may be able to do the odd guest appearance on TV shows (i.e. The Good Wife), but, chances are, he will never play a lead role in a feature film again. He hasn’t been in any movies (except for voice work) since the mid 90’s.

Pierce Brosnan, James Bond, just because.
I think too old now, wouldn’t be a draw.
lagally says
Oh god he is still gorgeous and sean Connery played bond much older than pierce is now
CatInTheHat says
I totally agree with you. Loved them both as Bond. Unfortunately, I dont think the franchise’s target audience is going to be those of us who still find either of them sexy….lol….
Kerzep says
I would shell out hundreds to see Sean Connery back as Bond. Have you seen pictures of him lately? Still sexy as all get out!

This is already happening, was announced that Spielberg will direct and Indy will hand off the fedora to a new star in the movie so the franchise can continue. Ford says he is only coming back one last time because he knows Spielberg will do right by the character — and Spielberg has promised Indy will not die bc so many people are upset that they killed off Han Solo in the last Star Wars.

Does he even act any more? “Kid” was a good clue though.
SammynSophie says
But “Comeback Kid” fits Michael Keaton too. He’s been referred to that way since his success in movies like Birdman. Also, I think he used that phrase himself in Mr. Mom. I could be wrong about that, but for some reason I’m hearing his voice saying those words in my head. 😉
ExilBerlinerin says
definitely this!!!! i wanted to say that, but you were much faster 🙂

Ben Affleck has Batman tied down for now. He’s even writing and directing the next one.

Please let this be Pierce Brosnan for Bond and yes yes yes pierce is never too old!
