Incentive To Quit

exit 1[Blind Gossip] The sooner a Presidential Candidate can get others in the race to quit, the sooner they can consolidate their base and lock in the nomination.

How do you get someone else to quit? Well, one way is to offer them an incentive. You could offer them money or the promise of a powerful position. That is what one camp is considering offering another candidate. How about a Vice Presidency… or a seat on the Supreme Court?

This would be an “exploding” offer. The Second Candidate would have to drop out of the race AND throw his support behind the First Candidate by a specific date… or the offer would be null and void and will not be offered again.

    So, now that the endorsement has come to pass- was this truly Trump offering a Bench Seat to Christie? The Two bullies get along well enough, it seems. And with this endorsement, Christie has cut his own throat in the GOP. As much as I don’t like him, he is not a stupid man. He is a schemer, so I have no doubt that he has a plan hatched.

    Cruz would grab that chance at a Justiceship because Trump’s strategy of his Canadian birth and maybe even the lawsuit hanging over him. After last nignt’s debate I dont think Trump holds a grudge against Rubio but I believe he is going to let the VP be a mystery and Kasich and Rick Scott are on the list maybe Jeb Bush. Cruz on the Supreme Court will be a reincarnated Scalia but it can happen. Come ‘on Barack move it

    Second candidate can be only Ted Cruz or HRC. Offer was: “How about a Vice Presidency… or a seat on the Supreme Court?” Rubio has a law degree but is not Supremes material. Cruz and HRC, regardless of one’s opionion of their political views, are Supremes material. It is hard to believe Bernie Sanders would make this offer to HRC, so either Trump or Rubio has made the offer to Cruz.

    This is the offer Rubio is making to Kasich.

    Nothing else makes sense. Kasich is the one taking votes away from Rubio (according to Rubio’s campaign thinking), and the establishment Republicans would NEVER offer VP to any of the other three remaining candidates: 1) Trump is the one they are most desperate to defeat, 2) They all HATE Ted Crux, and 3) Ben Carson isn’t even really running for president, just an extended promotion tour for his book and “branding” for his homeschooling…

    I think Rubio will try to strong arm Cruz out because Rubio is getting establishment donors lined up behind him now that ol’ Jebby is out of the race. Cruz is a lawyer and was Solicitor General of TX before switching over to US Senate.

    What should he do? I don’t really care…as far as I’m concerned, they’re all corrupt. But if I were Cruz I would consider how much more impact he could have as a judge or attny general.

    The clues are ‘Vice President’, since many considered Hillary to be VP while Bill was president + supreme court- her recent tweetstorm.

    [Optional] I think she should run a fair race, and Bernie should take it as far as he can. I doubt he’ll win, but I think he can help shift the thinking of many Americans.

      Rubio trying to get Cruz out. Marco is backed by big money that wants their illegal immigrant employees to continue working for peanuts. They fear Trump will enforce immigration laws.

    I’m guessing this is about a republican bc I could not imagine Bernie’s camp accepting this kind of offer and Hillary isn’t stupid enough to suggest it. Hell, Bernie’s camp would prob leak it to the press.

    So are Marco’s backers trying to get Cruz to back out with promises of a conservative southern justice? Or is Rafael trying to silence Marky with a cabinet position?

    I wanna say rubio as either the first or the second. he’s either being offered by trump, or perhaps offering TO kasich? the former seems much more likely since I don’t think eliminating kasich would do all that much

    Please let this be Hilary offering Bernie a VP spot in exchange for dropping out of the race. If he can’t win, I’d like to see him as VP….The thought of Trump paired with either Rubio or Cruz is just too much for me to take

    Rubio offers Kasich the VP spot. Kasich’s 7% of voters could possibly cross over to Rubio if the threw his support behind him which would get him in close range of Trump/Cruz.

    Nobody who isn’t already voting for Trump is going to default to him if their candidate drops out, the game now is to narrow the field and aggregate the other 70% who aren’t voting for him.

    Funny that not one former candidate has backed any of the ones still left in the running. Very telling.

    Definitely the democratic candidates since “exploding” was used (Ben Ghazi?). Since the blind said “throw his support” and Clinton lost to Obama for Democratic nomination, here’s my answer.

    Hillary should offer to disappear away from the race….

    I would think it would have to be a Cruz/Rubio deal since they have been battling it out for 2nd place and their % points together add up to Trump’s margins… not sure if either of them could pull off a Trump upset for the nomination though

    Not Trump as he is certain of his base and the win. So must be either Cruz making Rubio the offer or Rubio making Cruz the offer.

    I think they are both too arrogant and full of themselves to give in to the other so I don’t see this happening. In any case, neither of them can probably beat Trump at this point anyway.

    If a seat on the supreme court is on offer, then I guess the candidate has to be a lawyer (although by now I’m not sure about anything when it comes to American politics). So the second candidate has to be either Rubio or Cruz. I’m going to guess Cruz is offering this to Rubio, in the hopes that if they band together they’ll manage to defeat Trump.
    And I sincerely hope that whatever they do, offer and possibly accept, no one of them becomes POTUS. Anyone but those three.

    I’ve heard this rumor about Ted Cruz – that Rubio will offer him a seat on the Supreme Court if he agrees to drop out. Considering that it’s been well documented that most of Cruz’s fellow senators have a low opinion of him, I don’t think it’s a good idea for Cruz to take the bait.

    Hmmmm…. I don’t see Trump making this offer to anyone, he doesn’t need to. So my guess is Ted is trying to get Rubio to quit.

    I don’t there should be any deal making at all. Let the process play out and the people have their say. The Republicans have spent 8 years telling us that a certain level of crazy is what our forefathers intended. Donald is a perfect example of this and the people love him! Ted and Marco are just being sore losers.

    There are 2 ways this can go.

    First Candidate: Hillary Clinton
    Second Candidate: Bernie Sanders. I say it this way and not the other way around as the second candidate is clearly listed as a “he” in the blind.

    First Candidate: Donald Trump (has money to throw around)
    Second Candidate: either Cruz or Rubio. Both have law degrees – so the Supreme Court justice nomination applies here.

    Donald Trump making the offer to Ted Cruz. It can’t be Rubio because he doesn’t have the resume to sit on the supreme court, whereas Ted is a graduate of Harvard law, former associate deputy attorney general, former solicitor general of Texas, and an adjunct professor of law at UT-Austin, where he teaches Supreme Court litigation, and has argued cases at the Supreme Court Level. If Trump can get Cruz out, he’s virtually guaranteed to pick up most of his delegates and win the nomination.

    While both Cruz and Rubio are lawyers – Rubio was in private practice but Cruz was Attorney General which would qualify to make Supreme Court – notwithstanding his vile mental state.

    So Rubio who is inheriting the GOP establishment money, moving an un-electable Cruz aside to run against Trump.

    The only rumors I have heard on this is that Trump might offer the Veep to Rubio. I don’t think anyone running in either party would qualify for SCOTUS.

    I would accept that offer if I were Rubio.

    Is Cruz offering the Donald a seat on the Supreme Court for Trump’s sister (who is a judge) or is Trump offering Cruz a seat on the Supreme Court, in which Cruz could fulfill his fantasy that he is the preeminent legal mind of his age?

    Trump is trying to get everyone out. His speech last night was so arrogant. I can’t imagine that he would want any of them as his running mate, unless he asks Hillary. I just wish we could vote Bernie in already and be done with this nightmare!

This sounds so Hillary to me and although she is currently ahead of Bernie, I think he is real competition for her and so she’s a bit scared of him & his potential voter pull and would rather not have to worry.       If Trump takes the nomination a monkey could run as a democrat and win. I’m not disparaging Clinton or Sanders, I just know that voters will do anything to keep Trump out of office. Never before have I felt fear for my country…and if Trump were to become president, we would be in for a disastrous mess. He is a polarizing figure and should not be in political office. He will have us in a war within his first year.

    Trump won by a landslide…don’t call me out on stats here because I don’t know the exact numbers…but he won Nevada by something like 45%? And Cruz and Rubio both finished after him with about 25-26% each? So simple math…if Cruz or Rubio drops out and his votes go to the one that didn’t drop out…they’ve got enough voters to trump Trump.
