[Blind Gossip] This musician’s family has talked to two separate doctors in the past week about getting a psychiatric hold on him!

A 5150 hold (see below) can only be put on someone if they are a threat to themselves or others.

Remember Amanda Bynes? Despite months of very bizarre behavior, her parents could not obtain a 5150 hold on her until she soaked her dog in gasoline and set a fire on a stranger’s driveway.

After they got the 5150, Bynes’ parents were able to get themselves appointed her conservators and take control of her treatment and her finances.

Unless our musician threatens to harm or actually physically harm himself or others, his family can’t legally force him into treatment for his mental illness, nor can they take control of his finances.

In public, they will pretend that everything is fine. However, behind the scenes, they are taking several steps.

They are safeguarding their finances and keeping it firmly under their control.

To ensure the safety of the child/ren, they will make sure that he is never left alone with them.

And to ensure their own brand’s survival, they will put out lots of distracting stories about themselves, their projects, their houses, and their kids.

BG Note: California Welfare and Institutions Code Section 5150 authorizes a qualified officer or clinician to involuntarily confine a person suspected to have a mental disorder that makes him or her a danger to himself or herself, a danger to others, and/or gravely disabled. The person can only be held for 72 hours for evaluation, after which time the hold is extended or terminated.

Who told you months ago that a 5150 hold was coming?

We told you in February that Kardashian family members were discussing getting a 5150 psychiatric hold placed on Kanye West.

They were told they had to wait until Kanye West harmed/threatened to harm himself/others before they could get the 5150.

Well, that time has finally arrived!

Kanye just had a breakdown where he threatened to physically hurt someone. A doctor had him transported to a hospital against his will, handcuffed to a gurney.

Some reports are claiming that he was hospitalized for exhaustion and dehydration.

While they might try to minimize the incident by characterizing it that way, it is naive to think that Kanye West’s condition will be cured with a nice long nap and a couple of glasses of water.

Kanye is mentally ill, had a complete breakdown, threatened to physically harm someone, was involuntarily hospitalized on a psychiatric hold, and is now on suicide watch.

‘He Is Paranoid & Hallucinating’

Kanye West‘s bizarre breakdown is much more serious than mere exhaustion, RadarOnline.com can exclusively report.

The erratic rapper is on suicide watch after being rushed to the hospital yesterday afternoon in Los Angeles, sources have revealed to Radar.

In addition, treatment professionals placed West, 39, under a 5150 psychiatrist hold once firemen transported him to medical care.

According to California law, a 5150 occurs when a “person, as a result of a mental health disorder, is a danger to others or to himself.”

As we told you before, those threats of harm are what allows the family to take action.

“He was crazy and delusional,” an insider told Radar. “He is having hallucinations, and is paranoid.”

The father of two, who hadn’t slept in days, was “screaming” that people were trying to kill him.

As Radar previously reported, LAPD officers responded to a “medical emergency” at 1:20 pm pst yesterday.

West’s behavior in recent days has been shocking, even for the typically outlandish entertainer.

He blew up on stage over the weekend, blaming friends Jay Z and Beyonce for “hurting” him, before canceling the remainder of his tour.

There’s more. Kanye threatened to assault people.

Kanye West’s personal physician is the one who called 911, warning the dispatcher Kanye was not violent but would become violent when police arrived to help him.

Law enforcement sources tell us, the call came in as a male with mental illness. Dr. Michael Farzam said his patient’s name was “Jim Jones, 39 years old, 5’8″, 175 lbs … suffers from temporary psychosis due to sleep deprivation and dehydration.”

Fake name. Sleep deprivation and dehydration. That’s all code for “celebrity.”

According to the police report the doctor told cops he had placed Kanye on a 5150 psychiatric hold and wanted him taken to UCLA Medical Center. We’re told there’s an issue over whether the doctor actually placed Kanye on a 5150.

The report goes on to say Dr. Farzam told police Kanye had attempted to assault a staff member at the gym.

We’re told Kanye was handcuffed to the stretcher because it’s protocol when cops are told someone is on a 5150 hold.

It will be interesting to see where Kanye goes after the initial 72-hour hold.

It will also be interesting to see who takes legal control of Kanye’s medical treatment – and his very considerable fortune – in the months ahead!

    And it never concerned Kim to have children with a seriously mentally ill man? Let’s hope that by the time her children grow up that there’ll be better treatments or cures for these horrible illnesses. No one laughs when someone has cancer but if they have biploar then it’s treated as a joke. But Kanye can’t control a lot of the stuff coming out of his mouth. And Lord knows, those Kardashians won’t help him. Let’s hope that he has someone out there to advocate for him.

    If you were his friend or family member, what would you do? There is no effective treatment for NPD, and ASD is treatable only to a certain extent. So, if they’re aiming for a 5150, it will have to be because of his symptoms of psychosis. Delusions of grandeur. There might be another issue there as well, but unlike Amanda Bynes and Britney Spears, Kanye is not THAT far gone yet as they were when they got forcibly treated.

    The industry drives some of these people insane. Alot of people here don’t like him, but I see alot of artistic genius in Kanye. I think pressure is stacking up on him. Several black artists got brave and warned people about the industry, like Griff, B.O.B. and Katt. Also brings to mind, Randy Quaid, Corey Feldman, and Scott Stapp.

    If you were his friend or family member, what would you do? Based on what’s been public, probably just keep an eye out because he doesn’t appear to be dangerous. I would be careful about leaving him with the kids, though. But there’s likely a lot that we don’t see, so if there’s more evidence that he’s a danger to himself or others, or that he’s unable to manage his finances, then I think you need to get experts involved, privately…

    This could have been the plan from the start. Get control of his assets. What they don’t realize is that he DOES have people who care about him, and I hope they will not let this family take control of him. I do not like Kanye, but he doesn’t stand a chance if left at their mercy.

    Its happened twice in my family. Nothing you can do except cut off support. Once he/she is homeless, and arrested for loitering etc. the courts won’t order treatment. Its excrutiating. My mother was able to get one relative disability and public housing benefits. In order to do that she had to lie (uncle wouldn’t sign papers so she illegally forged them). Second relative is still a question… don’t know what to do.

    As a counselor working in behavioral health insurance, a fraction of our hospital admissions are due to safety issues. Most are due to bizarre behaviors. A vast majority are involuntary. If Kanye wasn’t famous but rather homeless or the poor of Chicago, chances are he would be a step away from being admitted.

      Took the words right out of my mouth. He’s a narcissist and therefore hard to take (he lost me after the 2nd album when the fame went to his head) but the K’so only look out for themselves so there’s no one in his corner, especially since his mother died. They’ll follow their same M.O. and make him look crazy and make Kim look like the angelic victim just like they did Scott and ice queen Kourtney. That’s what you get when you go for looks over substance.

      He was bipolar before he met Kim. You can’t just catch bipolar disorder- you are born with it. He “married” Kim to boost his fading presence in the media and she just does anything & everything for the cameras. So they both had their own dumb self-serving agendas. But bipolar disorder- like any mental disorder or sickness- left untreated, will just get worse. And that’s sadly what’s happening with him now.

      Also, if this is about Kanye, the situation off camera must be pretty dire for them to try and seek a psych hold and ways to not leave him alone with the kids! that’s scary! He is scary.       I mean, his doctor was there with him and called 911 because he was sleep deprived and dehydrated? I’m no doctor, but…sedative shot and IV fluids? Is it really necessary to call 911 in those circumstances? Unless there is much more to the story.
