When she was dating that other celebrity – who treated her horribly, by the way – she always talked about getting engaged to him.

Years of drama. They never got engaged.

Then there were a string of relationships.

One of the strangest was that guy from rehab. She was sure she was going to marry him, too.

She jumps from one relationship to another because she doesn’t want to be alone.

Her newest guy was engaged to another woman just a couple of months ago.

Yet she has told friends that she is sure that she will be marching down the aisle with him soon!

One of the principles of those in recovery is that they shouldn’t date for a year after rehab. They should be working on centering themselves and securing their sobriety and their mental and physical health.

Singer has given that principle the big middle finger while she lurches from man to man.

Three in the last year alone!

Is she that lonely?

Will an engagement ring fix her many issues?

Does she think that getting married will provide validation that she is healthy? That she is worthy of love?

She is a young, talented girl with lots of fans and more money than most people will spend in a lifetime.

Yet every relationship seems unstable and desperate and rushing towards marriage.

We don’t get it.

Demi started dating actor Max Ehrich in March.

They moved in together in May.

Your friends at Blind Gossip told you in June that she was very determined to get engaged as quickly as possible.

They did, in fact, get engaged in July.

And… they just broke up.

Demi Lovato is giving her heart a break. The singer and her fiancé, Max Ehrich, have called it quits on their six-month relationship and two-month engagement, Us Weekly confirms.

“The relationship has ended,” a source close to Lovato says.

Lovato and Ehrich fell for each other quickly, with a source exclusively telling Us in April that the Daytime Emmy nominee planned to propose and had a ring picked out. He did just that in July on a beach in Malibu.

That was fast.

Of course, there was the requisite public fawning over each other.

“@maxehrich – I knew I loved you the moment I met you,” the Grammy nominee wrote via Instagram at the time alongside photos of the actor’s proposal. “It was something I can’t describe to anyone who hasn’t experienced it firsthand but luckily you did too.. I’ve never felt so unconditionally loved by someone in my life (other than my parents) flaws and all. You never pressure me to be anything other than myself. And you make me want to be the best version of myself. I’m honored to accept your hand in marriage. I love you more than a caption could express but I’m ecstatic to start a family and life with you. I love you forever my baby. My partner. Here’s to our future!!!!”

Ehrich, for his part, wrote, “You are the most beautiful inside and out in the entire world & I couldn’t be more grateful God brought us together. I LOVE YOU SO MUCH @ddlovato AND WILL FOREVER CHERISH YOUR PURE, BEAUTIFUL, INFINITE SOUL.”

Okay, well maybe not forever forever. More like two months forever. And then I block you on Instagram.

Lovato previously dated her Camp Rock costar Joe Jonas in 2010, That ‘70s Show alum Wilmer Valderrama from 2010 to 2016, MMA fighter Guilherme “Bomba” Vasconcelos from 2016 to 2017 and fashion designer Henri Levy from 2018 to 2019.

Demi Lovato overdosed and almost died in 2018.

She went to rehab, but rather than focusing on her sobriety and her mental health, she embarked on a serious of relationships with men.

Demi Lovato seems to have a great deal of difficulty being single.

You may recall that Demi’s first serious relationship was with actor Wilmer Valderrama (That 70s Show).

Their relationship started when she was 17 and he was 29.

Demi really thought she was going to marry Wilmer.

They dated for approximately six drama-filled years – including more than one stint in rehab – but never got engaged.

Wilmer Valderama just got engaged to someone else in January 2020.

Did his engagement spur Demi Lovato to speed up finding a fiance for herself?

She had been on quite a dating tear lately.

In the last year alone, Demi Lovato has been in serious relationships with THREE guys.

The first was fashion designer and rehab buddy Henry Levy (aka Henri Alexander) from 2018-2019.

“I was caught up in drugs and sh*t like that” he said. “But for me, I’m angry at my parents for sending me to this place for a f*cking year. I’m angry at the f*cking people in the rehab for telling me what to f*cking do all the time.”

Yes, he works as a model. He is 25 and lives in Los Angeles.

Then she started dating her now ex-fiance, Max Ehrich in March of 2020.

However, their “forever” lasted… a whopping two months.

That diamond is huge. We do not know who paid for it or who gets to keep it.

Now that it’s over, everybody has blocked everybody on social media. That certainly demonstrates some level of animosity in the breakup.

So, to sum up this story, right after her overdose, Demi started dating a fellow addict and then began lurching around from man to man, determined to get engaged.

She did manage to get engaged to one of them – and score a big diamond ring – but the relationship was over as quickly as it all began.

We can all look forward to Demi Lovato getting another tattoo and writing another song about how strong she is.

    Optnl: Nope. She seems too immature and desperate at the present time. Plus extremely high maintenance. Any boyfriend of hers should talk to that billionaire who was engaged to Mariah for awhile, to get an idea of what loving a diva is really about.

    I think she has a lot of issues she needs to work on before even considering marriage. I don’t have her problems but being single for a few years was highly beneficial to me, so I can only imagine the world of good it would do for her. I’m rooting for her.

    Demi lovato REALLY needs to be alone for a while. She cannot handle her own company for more than 3 minutes.

    Definitely Demi Lovato. That was a solid reference to Wilmer Valderama about the celeb who treated her badly. She’s talented and successful, and needs to value herself more.

    No. She may not be ready for a relationship, much less marriage. If she has self worth issues than nothing will work. She’s needs to take her blindfold off.

    Part of it is the drugs – she refuses to stay clean.

    The other part is being a child actor/performer – Britney Spears, Selena Gomez…… The list goes on and on. These kids become famous at a young age and unless the parents get in there – watch out.

    She needs to take some time and assemble a team that will keep her clean, healthy and show her how to develop a clean and healthy relationship.

    Sad.

    She definitely shouldn’t – she should really follow what she preaches: loving yourself yada yada yada. It’s getting tiring especially when she is almost hitting 30 but still acts like a teenager. Get sober and get it all together.

    I don’t know the person, and I’m not a professional, but last year I left a marriage with someone with Borderline Personality Disorder who also had a substance abuse problem. The pattern of jumping out of and into relationships fast is often attributable to their underlying personality disorder, which is also implicated in their choice to self-medicate through substances. It is awful, for them and others. It takes SO much work to be sober and sensible. Good luck to her with it.

    No. Not even because she might not actually be ready to get married, but because Max is clearly using her for the PR and that is just going to end poorly. She doesn’t know how to be single and as a fan it is honestly exhausting. She needs people around her that are honest, but I sense she pushes those people away.

    And another thing, is no one going to talk about how Max and Sommer broke up and instantly started dating people much more famous than them? Red flag, if you ask me.

    Optional: no. I think she probably suffered abuse like so many child stars & uses drugs and relationships to try and numb the pain. She’s so lucky to be alive after that near fatal OD but I’m not sure she feels that way. It’s very sad
