BlindGossip – Once upon a time, there was a little girl. She was adorable and charmed everyone with her crooked smile. Little girl ran into some big trouble early on, but seems to have straightened herself out and focused on the work.
However, she is now stepping on some big boy toes with her latest pursuit. That is because she dared to venture into this male-dominated field without being properly deferential to the big boys club. While one of the big boys appears to be on her side, another tried to quietly sabotage her first new project. He tried to undermine her insurance by claiming that our little girl isn’t as recovered as we think.
Based on the crooked smile and recovery issues – Kirsten Dunst? No idea about her latest pursuits though.
Drew Barrymore
I’m with you on that one… first name to pop up!
Same here.
Agreed, I thought of Drew Barrymore with Steven Spielberg (her godfather)being the supportive one.
Yeah, that makes more sense.
Agreed. It’s almost obvious.
Agreed, Drew matches everything in this Blind Item…
She was adorable in ET and got into some trouble very young but got herself together, she just completed her first film as a director, which is a male dominated field…
Steven was supportive of her and even showed up to her premier…
I wonder who the director trying to sabotage her was?
one vote in more for Drew Barrymore
Agree.
My first thought. Look at that pic! She looks like Drew iN ET
TOTALLY agree with Drew Barrymore.
Wasn’t there another Blind about someone falling off the wagon, which sounded like Drew? Could be that…
Got my vote. Seems really obvious, too! Sad that in this day and age women are still a threat to men.
Obvious!
Agree!
ditto
Drew Drew Drew Drew Drew Drew
There’s no other answer.
First person I thought of. Especially since there have been recent rumors that she isn’t as sober as we all thought.
Yeah, and the dude is an *hole. Go Drew!
of course- drew barrymore. isn’t she starting to produce or direct or something. and i think steven spielberg is supportive of her, the other who is trying to sabotage poor lil thang- no idea.
Drew Barrymore just had her first real directing gig. It drives me nuts that nobody calls Drew on the fact that she still drinks (and doesn’t hide the fact). What happened? Did her alcoholism go away? I don’t think ‘recovered’ alcoholics are allowed to drink, do you?
Clues:
-”Once upon a time…” that’s how the film she produced, Charlie’s Angels, starts
-She was a star in ET as a little girl
-”big trouble early on” was her drinking and drugging at 12
Oops, drugging and drinking at 9 years old.
Agreed. This is sooooo Drew Barrymore!
Absolutely Drew. Shame on whoever is undermining her!
Drinking too much doesn’t really make you an alcoholic. Being addicted does. If she can drink now and be in control, then she was never an alcoholic.
Thats nonsense. Alcoholics like Drew MUST NOT drink anything anymore. That#s like Amy Whino saying “Yeam I’m a junkie but I got it under control so I’m not a junkie”
Definitely Drew Barrymore. The book she wrote after rehab was “Little Girl Lost.”
This must be Drew. I just read an interview with her last week where she was talking about how she is “not sober” and I wondered then, if she is saying THAT, there must be soooooo much more that she isn’t saying. Crap, it’s too early to be pontificating.
I think she’s said that she drinks here and there, but she’s stayed clean otherwise. No all night benders or dancing on bars for her recently.
Definitely Drew Barrymore. Her autobiography was called, “Little Girl Lost”.
Drew wore her hair in pigtails like that in E.T. She was also in a movie called Riding in Cars with Boys and another movie called Boys on the Side, i.e., the “Big Boys” or “Boys Club.”
(Also, she was shipped off to rehab when she was very very young, probably by those in control of her and trying to manage her career for their own benefit, not because she thought she was an addict. Also, being an out of control child doesn’t make one an addict. In any event, she appears to be in control of whatever demons she may have had then.)
Exactly. It’s not uncommon for people to display alcoholic tendencies in college and then go on to be able to have a normal non-addicted relationship with alcohol further into adulthood. It can be somewhat of a situational thing and this could be the case with Barrymore. We certainly don’t hear stories about her being out of control in any way so I’m inclined to think that she doesn’t have a problem.
I agree, it could only be Drew.
Agree with all…Drew B. and her directing debut
drew barrymore. agreed
Agree that its Drew and the picture is the cutest little girl ever.
Drew Barrymore, Pic is just like her “ET” character!
Drew Barrymore.
I’m going to go see “Whip It” today just to stick it to that sabatoging director.
I for one applaud Drew Barrymore for not only surviving in Hollywood but excelling. There is no way to know what she has personally gone through and to be able to function and continue to work and now directing is quiet an accomplishment. I would imagine there are some male bigwigs that don’t want women to succeed in the business. Way to go Drew!
Well said! I’ve always been rooting for Drew. BTW, she was UNBELIEVABLE in “Grey Gardens”!
Definitely Drew.
I bet the slimeball who is sabotaging her is Michael Bay. Just because he seems like a tool who hates women. That’s why I like when Megan Fox gives him grief. He blamed the failure of “The Island” on Scarlett Johansson and that wasn’t fair.
I’m curious who is undermining her as well. My vote is for McG (directed Charlie’s Angels). Anyone who goes by such a nickname has to be a d-uche.
Agree about Michael Bay. Spielberg is the good boy and Michael Bay is the Bad Boy. Spielberg is the producer of Transformers and Michael Bay did Bad Boys.
Oh yeah, d-bag for sure. I can’t imagine he has any friends either. No one who actually cares about you would ever let you call yourself McG without telling you that you sound like a total *.
“The Island” stunk because of the Michael Bay trademark long, pointless car chases that only served his ego and not the story.
As for the director sabotaging her, probably all of them. I don’t know his name, but I’ll guess the guy who got the Eclipse job that she was also up for.
This is soooooooooo Drew Barrymore. However, she readily admits to not being ‘totally rehabilitated.’ She prefers saying she has ‘it under control.’
Ive always hoped she would find the strength to keep ‘it under control’ because the talent that winds through her DNA is legendary, but then so are those things she has to fight to control. dont let them knock you down Drew, get someone to grab some embarassing pics of that creep and send them to Ted – he’ll take him down a peg or two.
D is for Drew Barrymore. Shout out to all the girls rocking lisps!!!
Another vote for Drew – and I believe she has come a long way from someone whose talents were misused by her family to someone whose talents are continuing to be discovered.
DreW Barrymore
Totally Drew Barrymore. Who else could it be? The person trying to sabotage her is the interesting part of this blind. I have some ideas, but they’re not good ones.
Here is a link to the picture of the pony-tailed Drew Barrymore from E.T.

She looked so innocent!!!
Drew Barrymore
Drewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww, new venture is the Whip It movie where she directs.
Gotta be Drew Barrymore.
It’s Drew. “Little Girl” refers to her autobiography, “Little Girl Lost,” actually. Her first directing venture, “Whip It,” ran into problems getting off the ground because certain people didn’t want to fund her (guessing that’s what this refers to…) and Steven Spielberg has been talking her up for awhile when it comes to directing, so it all fits.
drew, drew, drew – only one I thought of
Not a bad girl but Alicia silverstonevalways had a crooked smile
I vote for Drew as well, look what they did to Barbara Streisand. The big boys don’t like
female competition
The only thing that bothers me is, why are we hearing about this now? I mean, maybe Drew’s people planted this as soon as they knew that the movie was going to bomb?
I feel sorry for Drew that the movie didn’t do well (and if it’s true that someone tried to sabotage her just because she’s a woman, that sucks as well).
I dunno, maybe I’m too cynical on Hollywood.
Yup, Drew.
Drew Barrymore and her new film, “Whip It.” I like Drew.
totally Drew Barrymore.
Drew Barrymore and David Slade. Spielberg is the one on her side.
I like Drew Barrymore, and I really want to like her as an actress. But I just can’t, she has that Uma Thurman quality of sounding like she’s reading her lines in her head as she’s saying them out loud, too self-conscious for me. So I balk at hearing all the ‘she’s so talented and amazing’ hyperbole on here. That’s just my opinion anyhoo, everyones’ entitled.
But let’s not go burning our bras about poor lil’women directors in Hollywood. There are many high profile ones out there, how about Julie Delpy, Amy Heckerling, Sofia Coppola, Kathryn Bigelow, Rebecca Miller, Catherine Hardwicke, Gurinder Chadha, Nora Ephron??
I agree with ‘oh snap!’, this sounds planted to me. What’s really sad is that people still feel the need to play the gender-card rather than let their talent speak for itself.
Oh and yes I have both a hoo-hoo and ta-ta’s, not a disgruntled pee-pee, in case you’re wondering.
