Good for the husband.

I disagree. There is likely one of two fact scenarios behind this – either the wife asked the husband to dole out the violence or the husband did it of his own volition. In the former case it is inappropriate (and possibly illegal) to make efforts to have someone beaten. In the latter, the husband has telegraphed that he lacks confidence that the wife can handle her own conflicts. Either way, the reactions are based in jealousy, not defence of oneself or another. That could lead to assault…

Interesting wild speculations, so in the first scenario the woman is blame even though she was inappropriately groped by a sportscaster who probably thinks any woman to be sexually harrassed by him is lucky. Let’s not hold the sportscaster accountable for any actions, basically.
I am guessing this won’t lead to any assault charges because the sportscaster would come off as a lecherous jerk (who even might be married) and look like the buffoon in this situation.
So yeah, good for the…

If he hadn’t, his wife would have thought him to he disrespectful to her because he wasn’t defending her.

charges against the husband which is a steep price to pay for flying off the handle. Had cooler heads prevailed, the wife and husband could have handled it on such a way as to ensure that only the sportscaster suffered negative repercussions for his inappropriate and possibly criminal behaviour.

In both your scenarios, an assault has already taken place. Groping/ molestation is sexual assault, not a ‘conflict’. Concerning the size of the man, it could be an escalating issue if she had tried to to wring his groin and we know from the Weinstein groping incident (where the police got him on tape) nothing happens legally.
I’m not sure by the blind if this was a consensual matter but 2 of the other guesses have reps for lewd behaviour so in agreement if it was sexual assault.
