Taylor Swift thought that Nicki was talking about her. Katy Perry and Ed Sheeran quickly jumped into the “feud” to choose up sides. Messy.
Nicki denied that the tweet was about Taylor. Taylor then apologized for the misunderstanding.
Lots of people have weighed in to defend one artist or the other… but Nicki never really did provide a coherent explanation as to who or what she was talking about!
Was it really about Taylor Swift and Taylor’s Bad Blood video (which features a lot of skinny models and other celebrities)? Was it about racism? Body type discrimination? Feminism? Was it a calculated move to stir up sales of Nicki’s new perfume (Pinkprint, which was introduced less than 24 hours later), or song sales for Anaconda, or album sales for The Pinkprint, or ticket sales for The Pinkprint Tour? What “kind” of artist was Nicki talking about? Is Nicki Minaj jealous of Taylor Swift?
