[Blind Gossip] We’ve told you before that this good-looking couple is in a PR relationship. They are both film actors and they are both enjoying success at the box office.

Well, one side is now pushing to take this to the next level. They want a fake engagement!

The first team thinks that the timing would be perfect for promoting a film starring the couple that will be released in a few months. They want to promote the movie as “the film in which they met and fell in love,” and say that the fake engagement will bolster the chances that BOTH actors will be nominated for Oscars.

The second team wants an Oscar too, but their actor wants to keep the relationship light and is reluctant about taking it to the next fake level.

So watch what happens in the next few months. If there is an uptick in “serious couple” stories (e.g. romantic dinners, house hunting, ring shopping) and appearances together (e.g. paparazzi photos of them by the ocean on vacation), our fake couple will probably be getting “engaged” in time for awards season!

It also means that they will BOTH be pushing hard for Oscar nominations, and will be staying in their “relationship” through the film’s release and the 2017 awards season… after which point they will be free to go their separate ways.

      I see numerous guesses for Michael Fassbender and Alicia Vikander, but the September release of The Light Between Oceans is MORE than several months away — that would be 7 months away!

    She just won an Oscar less than a month ago and I’m already tired of her. It’s Redmayne all over again. Give other people a turn!

    BOTH in upper case – because she’s the one who fought for Oscar this year (and won via category fraud) while he couldn’t seem to care.
    I gotta say, tho, if this is all PR, they certainly are not milking it. don’t do red carpets together, PDA is a bare minimum. They seem to be a couple who’d prefer to stay private (but maybe that’s part of the “act”).

    The film is The Light Between Oceans.
    This is a Weinstein-concocted relationship. Fassbender has been seen at many awards season afterparties with other women and Alicia has been seen witnessing it, not caring because the relationship isn’t genuine.

    I’m thinking this might be Fassbender/Vikander. The movie they supposedly got together on is coming out this year and they were first photographed as a “couple” surfing together (hence the hint of beachside photos). Also the hint that they will BOTH campaign for Oscar since he hasn’t been active in campaigning post-Shame.

    Clues is “Ocean” as in the movie they met ” the light between two oceans” due out later this year.

    But they were both nominated for Oscars this year so not sure why this movie will bolster they both be nominated, but this is def them…nowi have to go and mourn

    Clues: Jaimie is set to star in the Mike Tyson biopic and that occurs in a boxing ring (see ring pic) and there is a lot of use of the word “push” in the blind -pushing hard (as in taking it to the next level) and “pushing” for awards. Plus there was a rumor both Fox and Holmes were wearing wedding rings the other day.

      As far as faking a relationship for an Oscar, why not? Seems that fake relationships are used for all sorts of ridiculous reasons in the celebrity world.
