Upset About Scam Auditions

audition[Blind Gossip] You already knew that this TV host was searching for a new cohost. At least, that’s what everyone thought she was doing!

Well, there have been two interesting developments.

The first is that she has decided that she likes being the only star of the show. That’s why this “search” never ends and she never approves a new hire. She likes it so much that she has expressed to network management that her preference is to make this little arrangement permanent. Of course, as the sole host, she would also be entitled to a hefty raise, right?

The second development is that some of the guest cohosts have gotten wind of this and are really angry about it! They thought they were competing for a permanent and lucrative job. Some of them returned again and again and again only because they thought were getting closer to an offer.

One of them, a well-known actor, is especially ticked off.

He wasn’t doing this for fun or because he has nothing better to do. This was supposed to be a trial run. He really wanted the gig. He was OK with going back for repeated auditions because he thought that was what it took to get the job. Now it looks like it was all a scam. He feels used.

As more of these individuals wonder if there is any possibility of a permanent job, it will be interesting to see if they are so eager to be guest cohosts in the future!

    I don’t think it’s Neil Patrick Harris, because he turned down the offer for David Letterman’s spot on CBS. Why would he want this?

    Kelly Ripa . This woman should know that this is not a solo show and she needs a co host. maybe even a female one like Lix Hasselbeck .The ratings would go through the roof and Vegas could clean up on wagers of when the first Cat fight would break out ! Kelly and Liz ! or maybe Kelly and Hillary ?

    Wow, what’s with all the Kelly hate?! It would never occur to me to have such a strong opinion of her one way or the other, jeez Louise, people, what the heck? The only remotely negative thing I’ve ever heard about her is how unhappy she was that she wasn’t consulted about losing half her show, that doesn’t seem completely out of the realm of appropriateness to me. Oh well, I’m fine with her. She has killer clothes and a hot husband, what’s not to like? ; ]

    I was wondering why they hadn’t decided on anyone yet!!

    Would not watch Kelly alone, and the revolving door of co hosts is getting ridiculous. What would she do, a monologue to start the show? Or she just wants a parade of different co-hosts continuously?

    Kelly, your head is getting way too big. Used to like her before all of the drama with Michael.

    I think Jerry McConnell is the one getting pissed. I like Joel McHale, he is REALLY funny.

    I don’t watch Kelly, so I have no idea who would have made the best permanent co-host. I haven’t watched the show since Regis left because Kelly gets on my last nerve. Personally, I think she and Megyn Kelly deserve each other. Neither plays well with others, so at least it would be interesting drama.

    Kelly Ripa. Looks like a funny daytime program to watch. Honestly though, I really do not pay attention to it unless I’m out somewhere and its on the TV. And, I havent paid attention since Michael left. IMO some people’s chemistry together you just can’t replace. If I had no choice but to pick a co-host I would perhaps go with Andy Cohen.
    They are BFF’s in real life and are funny 2gether.

    Kelly Rippa is a self-centered mean witch. I hope they install Jerry O’Connell and then rip Rippa outa there, and replace her with O’Connell’s spouse, Rebecca Romijn.

    Live with Kelly Rippa. She is so annoying They should just kill the show. It is a syndicated show and ABC/DISNEY OWNS it. It does air on ABC in top major markets but in the post Good Morning America Time Slot. I know ABC wants to add another hour of GOOD MORNING AMERICA mainly because it would be cheaper. However since the show is syndicated ABC would lose millions.

    Kelly Rippa is an annoying twit. This is why Michael ran for the hills.

    Rippa,. No idea who the star is. Maybe guests need to start refusing since it’s only temporary? See how long a show all to herself lasts.

    She’s become insufferable to watch. The only host she really wants she can’t have – Anderson Cooper.

      You are so right. I used to LOVE her and now I can hardly stand to watch the show. I truly think she cannot have anyone outshine her, and she was holding out for Anderson Cooper. I liked Fred savage, but he’s too good for that job, IMO. Starting to think the same about Jerry O too because she seems so insufferable.

    I’m not sure, but maybe NPH and Anderson Cooper for the guest hosts.

    It may be time to retire that show….

    Definitely Kelly Ripa. Cohost might be Jerry O’Connell who has been her guest co-host repeatedly and was really popular with viewers.

    UGHHH I wish she would have a perma- regular co1host. I stopped watching the show much because I HATE the revolving door of co-hosts. Sorry, but Kelly needs someone with her. I like knowing the same person is going to be with her day to day and we all build a rapport. (love Josh Groban, fyi.)

      I agree with everything you said. But after reading this, I kind of want them to start over with TWO new hosts – Josh Groban and Aisha Tyler, perhaps?

    Doesn’t matter to me — I don’t watch the show — but Harris is likable, funny, and talented: all the qualities Kelly lacks.

    I could see NPH being a little peeved. He is nothing but fabulous, and I don’t think he would be peeved for nothin’ … but since HE is so professional, he probably expects other people to be as well.

    I went from being sympathetic towards her when she was blindsided to now hoping they find a replacement for HER. She overplayed the victim card, IMO. They should pick her husband as her replacement. 😉

    I don’t watch the show since I can’t stand Ripa so in my opinion it should be cancelled. There are already too many talk shows on.

      Right? Who actually watches that show? Yet I saw salary comparisons between Kelly and a bunch of other great people and Kelly made the highest salary by far. It’s so dull. Good shows get cancelled in two months and this monster rolls on for 300 years.

      Totally agree. Lol, “this monster rolls on for 300 years.” It is truly one boringly bad show run by a monster. Kelly is so annoying. I have no idea why the networks keep this one on the air.

    I think Kelly is too full of herself and needs a reality check. I think Jerry O’Connell shares the best chemistry with Kelly and does the best among the other co-host hopefuls. He’s a natural and comes across as comedic and confident, not cocky. Anderson is my # 2 choice, again… the chemistry w/ Kelly is great.

      Totally agree with you. Jerry would have been a great co-host. I think Kelly fails to realize that people want consistency. I cannot watch the show anymore due to all the different co-host.
