Diane Kruger and Joshua Jackson have split after 10 years together, PEOPLE confirms.

“Diane Kruger and Josh Jackson have decided to separate and remain friends,” reps for both confirm exclusively to PEOPLE.

Kruger, 39 and Jackson, 37, began dating after Kruger split from her husband of five years, French director Guillaume Canet.

Kruger and Jackson owned houses in both Paris and Vancouver, and lived together in New York, where they were often spotted taking strolls around the city.

The two last stepped out together in February for the opening of Jackson’s Broadway play.

We gave you several clues.

The first was the title and photo. If you saw the movie Inglourious Basterds, starring Brad Pitt and Diane Kruger (among others), you may recall that at the end of the film, the entire theater goes up in flames.

We also told you that our actress was celebrating a “milestone birthday” (Diane turned 40 this year) and that she had been suspected of having an affair (Diane was caught getting cozy with actor Norman Reedus).

    Everyone is saying Kruger and Jackson because of the Kruger/Reedus thing. Doubt it’s them. Unless there is a pic of Reedus and Kruger in the act, I say no. I’ve been a fan of the Dead for years and if there is one thing fans know, it is that Reedus likes them young. Very young. If Kruger was hitting her 20th birthday, he’d probably hit that, but 39? No.

    I’ve spent ages thinking about the reference the the flames and I think I’ve got it. Diane Krueger and the flame clue is Freddy Krueger being burnt in the boiler room in Nightmare on Elm St? Plus the repeated mention of ‘affair’ – Joshua Jackson is in The Affair. So, the rumours about her straddling Norman Reedus in a bar are true then?

    Diane Kruger. I met Joshua Jackson during NYFW in 2007. He left Milk Studios and ran across the parking lot to buy a few Bud cans at the gas station. He was so nice and he offered me one, not because he knew I was part of the press. He’s a great guy – he should message me! 😉

    This is Diane Kruger and I HATE that it’s Diane Kruger. She’ll be 40 this year & her being spotted with Norman Reedus was just plain sloppy.       This. She bought a house in Paris last year, probably renovating it. Kind of off topic, but she split from husband Guillaume Canet in 2006, same year she and JJ got together. Wonder if this is another case of “if they will do it for you, they will do it to you”??

      I would keep it publicly quiet, privately not so much. Would have too much anger not to vent at all.

    For once I got this one – and I can’t for the life of me figure out why she married him in the first place. Actress: Isla Fisher (clue “up in flames” for red hair and she turns 40 on February 3rd) and Actor: Sacha Baron Cohen. According to IMDB he has nothing planned to date for 2016 & she is filming one movie then nothing the rest of the year. While I don’t like him, if my spouse cheated on me there is no way I would play nice & role over … although there are 3 children to think of.
