The producers of this popular prime time network show have a strict budget for their cast. They typically don’t negotiate salaries with potential cast members. However, they may make an expensive (and questionable) exception for one guy.

Producers don’t really care about the guy himself. He’s not a big name and he has no talent. However, they do care very much about Mr. No Talent’s girlfriend’s family!

Producers want him to guarantee that the family will show up for filming… AND will talk about the show on social media. In exchange, Mr. No Talent wants more money than any other cast member… AND a guarantee that he stays on the show for X number of weeks!

    Of course it isn’t fair — but when have such reality competitions ever been fair? They are all rigged to some extent, depending on what/who producers think will bring in the most viewers. Anyone who doesn’t know that by now has simply not been paying attention.
    (If LIFE were fair, Disick would be pumping gas somewhere and the rest of the K Klan would be walking the streets for their money, which is where they all belong.)

    Is it fair: Of course not, but especially because he is nothing special and really should be focused on learning to become kind contributing member of society not a dancer.

    Yuck, please just don’t, ABC.

    Rigging results is obviously not fair (by definition), but it’s also ILLEGAL. The same FCC rules enacted after the quiz show scandals in the 1950’s apply to “game shows and any other form of contest.” There;s no way ABC would risk it, but leave it to those people to expect them to agree anyway.

      DWTS is probably legally considered an entertainment show, not a contest. Same for American Idol, there have been times fans wanted to complain to the FCC about “unfair” results and vote tampering. Like AI DWTS probably has some fine print in the viewer voting system rules that allows them to throw out votes they deem to be robo votes or some other way to get around the system.

    Fair? No. But, who really ever thought those shows were fair in the first place? It’s like a casino. Flash and fun to watch with the impression that you’re involved some how.
    It’s fair that he gets more for that though in that his family is everywhere and advertising for the show will boost heavily from their presence, so it’s a benefit to the show that other people don’t really bring. Better than a commercial for the show.

    If DWTS does hire Scott Disick, they will truly be putting the last nail in their coffin in terms of relevance. I don’t think the DWTS viewing audience has a lot of overlap with those who keep up with the Ks.

    And, no, it is not fair to rig the show for his ego and benefit (or for ratings).
