Sarah Hyland and Tyler Posey brought some good energy to their hosting duties, but even they couldn’t make up for the fact that this is the most ridiculous of all the awards shows.
Teens supposedly cast their votes via social media for their “Choice Whatever,” and then the winners are given a giant surfboard in lieu of a trophy. However, it’s all a sham. The organizers just pick “winners” who will create buzz and who are available to show up for the ceremony in person or by video. Do the teens who spend all their time voting for their favorites care that the TCAs have absolutely nothing to do with talent or votes?
