She Sounded Fine At Rehearsal

woman sick 3[Blind Gossip] This female singer was supposed to perform at last night’s Grammy Awards.

We were at the [X] party and somebody brought up [Singer]. Somebody else said that they were at her rehearsal and she she sounded just fine. This industry exec asked, “So what happened?” A couple of people gave each other the side eye like no one wanted to say anything, but then one of them pulled him aside and whispered something to him. I don’t know what they said but the industry exec’s eyes popped open and his jaw dropped and he said “Really? Wow!” like he couldn’t believe it. It seemed like it was something pretty bad.

    Optional: really stumped on this one. So many things that she could do that would be surprising to no one, like: drugs, partying too hard, alcohol, injuries, etc. Those things would not incite a “Really? Wow!” response from anyone.

    It would have to be something *unusually* surprising. In the related blind Janet Jackson faked throat cancer. Maybe Rihanna actually has it?? That would be pretty bad. I hope that’s not the case.

    Lauren Hill didn’t perform because she arrived late. The picture indicates someone sick. RiRi is the only one that was sick. Can’t go with pregnant, cause that shouldn’t stop a show. She had performed the night before, and even the night before that. I’ll go with drug overdose. I think the PR is trying to put it on Beyoncé as a distraction.

    NOT Rihanna. This is Lauryn Hill, who was supposed to perform with the Weeknd but was suddenly MIA. Her rep made up some BS about her appearance never even being confirmed and saying that it “couldn’t come to fruition,” but umm, she had supposedly rehearsed with the Weekend.

    Pregnant ( Leo’s the father..lol ), she could have bronchitis, an STD ( I’m speculating because of his reaction ), or a torn vocal cord.

    Rhianna. Have seen several articles stating she didn’t sing despite attending rehearsals due to docs saying she could do permanent damage to her voice. Believe they said she has bronchitis and has been taking antibiotics for several days now.

      This is something I wondered about too. Even though its probably riri in this blind something was different with b too. Her dress may have been sheer but it was white and covered her from wrist to neck to ankle.plain hair. None of the usual stuff already mentioned as overdone in this very column. Maybe she played it for drama but I wonder. B missing a red carpet?

    Rihanna bailed as did Lauryn Hill. Although her people are saying she was never invited to perform. No matter, show went on just fine without them. RiRi pulled a Zayn! By the way, Swift looked like crap. She’s way too thin and the bob looked redic on her.

    Lauren Hill is weird and creepy. She claims she was not contracted to perform with the Weeknd although her and her band showed up for rehearsal. The Academy President gave a polite read and was disappointed with her behavior.
    As for RiRi…she’s been premiering her clothing line and hitting up fashion industry events. Partying like a Rock Star. Read that she didn’t want to be at the same event with Beyonce

    I think it’s Lauren Hill. I know most people will say rihanna but I think she is sick.

    God knows why Hill didn’t turn up . She is very troubled.

      I agree, it’s Lauren. The photo surely indicates an illness excuse was used – but the actual content does not. Lauren was more of a no-call, no-show than Rihanna where it was announced before the show that she wasn’t going to be able to perform.

      However Lauryn stated she never actually agreed to perform and it was contingent on how the rehearsal went. She apparently had a few concerts prior to the Grammy’s and didn’t feel like she had enough time to rehearse and therefore didn’t perform. She never claimed illness from what I have read. I am going to RiRi.

      There are rumors that she is bi-polar and only intermittently treated (not uncommon for patients with mental health issues – compliance with meds is a problem). I love Lauryn Hills music. It is a shame that her health issues can’t be stabilized.
