She Didn’t Offer A Ride

[Lainey Gossip] Here’s a scenario to consider: Let’s say you’re dating a guy and you’re super into each other, and you’ve been staying with him, and he’s really serious about you, the most serious he’s been about anyone.

He lives in the same complex with someone he’s very close to. And the person he’s close to has a partner too. You and she don’t know each other well. But since you’ve been staying there, you run into each other one day. And you tell her you’re going shopping and where. She says she’s going shopping too and leaves in the car. You head out on foot.

Turns out, she went shopping exactly where you went shopping. And she knew that’s where you were going. But she didn’t offer you a ride.

Is that weird?

Maybe it’s not that weird. But considering who they are, it IS super gossipy.

    interesting that one would think there could be a message. I mean obvi they can’t go out in public together. The public would read too much into it.

    The girl who wasn’t offered a lift is Irina Shayk, the IS is capped in the final sentence and it’s super gossipy because she is pregnant. She generally walks everywhere but it is certainly strange not to offer a lift to someone who is expecting. I don’t know what other celebs live in Bradley Coopers complex but there has to be plenty.

    Have to guess this is Meghan Markle and Princess Kate.

    I don’t find it rude. To start with, the rumor mill would go * if the two of them were seen in the same vehicle. I suspect that Kate eventually hopes to catch MM seeing/meeting with some other dude, which might ruin her chances of happily ever after with Prince Harry. She’s also sending the message, “You aren’t us, sweetie.”

    It’s awkward that they live in the same complex. I’m imagining frosty moments when they meet at the garbage chute in the hallway, each of them with a trash bag in hand. I hope the building’s fitness center is big enough so they don’t have to ride exercise cycles right next to each other!

    The message is: i have had to clear this with security and follow protocols waaay in advance and do everything just so because that’s my life. There is no spur of the moment and there is no hop-a-ride. Watch and learn.

    They’re been going out for all of five mins, if the two women are spotted out together looking at dinner settings at Harvey Nics, the tabloids would go nuts and the pressure on the couple would escalate. KM was photographed with Chelsy Davy but i don’t think she has been pictured with any subsequent girlfriends, i think they learnt best not to flaunt anything til it’s official. I can not recall one pic of KM with Cressida. #teamchelsy

    I don’t know that Meghan is entirely out for the count. After all, the Queen’s husband Prince Philip was not liked by the establishment either, but she insisted on marrying him and is still with him nearly 70 years later.

    Plus her sister Margaret and her son Charles weren’t allowed to marry the person they wanted (until much later, in Charles’ case), which created a lot of unhappiness all around.

    Or…Kate could have another baby, making Harry 6th in line, and he won’t need approval…

    It’s not weird considering who they are. If Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle are photographed together, it would be major headlines and be heavily meaningful. Still too early in Markle and Prince Harry’s relationship for that.

    This. Agreed. This is obv second hand. Let’s not ASSUME we know what the girl driving was thinking…or not. If it was DC maybe she’s just following protocol. She learned the inner circle takes time and incl ‘rules of engagement’. Crazy to most but it is what it is. For now.

    Don’t know anyone here but maybe girl 2 had in mind to do a detour or some personal things to do and then changed her mind and went straight shopping. Should we always read this much into people’s actions?

    Hmmm… that he make like you, but you haven’t made it, yet. I find Kate Middleton to be boring and fairly lazy, but Meghan Markle has been super thirsty about her relaysh with Prince Harry. Her try has been off putting, which sucks because I really wanted to root for her being that she is American and not the traditional spousal choice for royalty!

    Kate did not give Meaghan Markle a lift. No surprise. The ‘Firm’ aka Royal Family and their heavy duty pr firm don’t want to acknowledge Markle officially. If they were seen together in Kate’s car, all hell would break loose.

    Girl 1 Meghan Markle, Girl 2 Kate Middleton. I think the message Kate is sending Meghan is that she’s not serious about becoming friends with a girl who the Royal Family doesn’t approve of. Not that Kate is better than anyone else, she comes from a working class family but she’s a snob now. I can’t see those two getting along, I might be totally wrong though!

    Dont know who this is. Maybe the Supergirl actress. Perhaps because of the use of the word super?
    I would think G1 is just not that into G2 as a friend…lol
    But seriously either since they don’t really know each other that well G1 felt awkward and that would spill over into the ride over to the store. Or G1 for whatever reason doesn’t like G2 and that’s her way of dropping the hint?

      I agree with this sentiment. I’m sure Kate is not about to let herself be photographed “hanging out and shopping” with Meghan. Kate has to be very careful, and I don’t blame her for keeping her distance.

      Yes, agreed. Let’s cut some slack. Ms Markel (if this is her and wouldn’t surprise if it was and she or someone close leaked it), seems to come with a lot of drama so far. This is why Chelsea was so accepted by the BRF.

      I thought this too. Its not like two regular gals going out. Kate could not risk getting papped with Meghan at this stage.

      But I am sure that part of it has to do with the fact that apparently Kate doesn’t like Meghan all that much!

    If this is them and Kate is the one that did this, I must say that I am disappointed. Kate is pretty much saying she doesn’t care for Meghan and she is not willing to get to know her.

      I think it’s more that if Kate and Meghan are photographed together, Meghan and Harry’s relationship will turn into even more of a media circus than it is – and Kate will be dragged into it – after everything Kate puts up with with the press, you can’t blame her for being cautious.

    Based upon the previous blind, I’m going to say this is Meghan M. and Dutchess Kate. And if she doesn’t offer a ride that means she doesn’t want to be seen with her. Which seems to fit in with the other clues we are getting re: Meghan’s reception by the royals.

      Exactly. There’s rules and protocols in place beyond Kate’s control right now. She’s worked hard for many years to EARN what trust she does have from the FIRM (QE2) and the access that comes with it.

      Kate is just as much of commoner as Meghan, she just comes from a family of social climbers. That’s why her and Pippa had the nickname “Wisteria Sisters.”

      I don’t think that’s necessarily true about the message.

      Kate may just not want to get involved, or to fan the media flames. Imagine if they were pictured together? The press would totally wet themselves.

      But it’s not, only the Queen and Prince Phillip live there. Will & Kate, and Prince Harry (and various other members of the Royal family) live in separate units of Kensington Palace.

      I agree with ozdxumel. Either she didn’t realize they were going to the same place or she knew the media of have a freak show if they showed up together. IMO, Kate’s not a vicious woman and would kindly guide Meghan about how things works. Hopefully MM is not leaking this stuff. It doesn’t help. Kate can be your friend and guide.
