[Blind Gossip] This foreign-born singer is known for her iconic role in one of the most famous musical films of all time. We’ve talked about her costar from that film many times, but we’ve never really talked about her.

Actually, let’s talk about a problem our singer is having with a family member. Her daughter has struggled with a laundry list of problems (drugs, alcohol, eating disorders) her entire life, and has failed to achieve success in a career in entertainment. So her newest strategy is to plasticize herself to perfection!

Mom’s not happy about it:

[Singer] is not at all happy about all the plastic surgery. [Singer] has had work done herself, but [daughter] is scary obsessed and gets something new done practically every month. [Singer] says that [daughter] has body dysmorphia. However, she’s not going to fight her on all the plastic surgery, because she doesn’t want to upset her to the point where she stops eating again!

In other words, the plastic surgery is bad… but our singer thinks that having her daughter resume the eating disorder would be worse!

    Daughter Chloe Lattanzi. She was on a television show years ago. It was a contest with the children of rock stars. She had a weird, Goth vibe, that kept her from getting voted off for quite a while. Kinda sad, if she has such poor self-image that she wants to change everything about herself.

    I struggled with anorexia when I was a teen. I knew another girl that had been a basketball player. Her struggle was the worst I have ever seen. She missed school for a year and when she came back, she was beyond skeletal and needed help walking. I wish I knew what happened to her.

    I had an eating disorder for 15 years myself and there’s a level of “unhealthy thinking” that never really leaves you. I still have body dismorphic but I am aware of it and basically just ignore it. She needs more therapy and to get out of the spotlight.

    Luckily I have had no experience with any eating disorders with anyone in my life. I can’t imagine how distressing it must be to watch a person you love deal with such an illness, or be the person suffering.

    Optional: Yes. I have known a number of people who have had eating disorders. They get a lot of affirmation from the internet if they are thin, and a lot of approbation is they are overweight. Both issues need assistance. The only thing is, people who suffer from not eating, don’t get the hate that people who are overweight get. That seems to be the last “acceptable” prejudice.

    And yes, including myself, I know many people who struggle with eating disorders. Whether it’s an eating disorder or obsessive plastic surgery, the key is loving and accepting yourself as you are, faults and all. Easier said than done, but just as alcoholism does, the disorder gets worse over time, never better. Prayers to the daughter, I hope she can get the help she needs.

    And get that child some help. You are just trading one serious problem for another.
    I’m hardly anything close to an expert but it seems that things like body dysmorphia is a symptom of other underlying issues. There won’t be any resolution that is good if the actual problems aren’t addressed.

    Olivia Newton-John. I feel so sorry for her, she’s been through a lot. Her partner suddenly disappeared, he was missing for years and thought to be dead; only to find out that he had actually faked his own death. Who does that? Seriously? Who does that to someone who loves you?

    And then she has a troubled daughter with multiple issues, hurting and ruining herself, and she can’t seem to stop her from doing it. So much heartbreak for Olivia. Wish her the best.
