[Blind Gossip] We have an interesting note about one of the well-known stars who signed the “Stop Gun Violence Now” petition for Billboard Magazine.
He has been known to engage armed bodyguards.
Oh, and he owns guns himself. Not just one or two for protection in his home… but LOTS of them. An entire safe full, in fact, including at least one bolt-action rifle and one semi-automatic weapon. Loves to go shooting, but we don’t think he’s a hunter. Member of the NRA.

Stephen King has been posing for the last five years or so against gun violence . He pulled one of his old blood soaked books off the shelf and has written a few essays with his twisted mind with comments like ” see the foods in their stomachs ” He was a victim of a home invasion a few years back and has been known to have bodyguards. Guy is a good storyteller but he strikes me as a limousine liberal hypocrite who is probably packing . I support the 2nd for law abiding citizens
SwanFire101 says
Nick Jonas… He’s from Texas. Plus there was a video or him a few years ago shooting a gun. He has a security gaurd with him basically every where he goes. They probably are armed.
northofyou says
The NRA wants us to believe gun ownership is an all or nothing proposition. It is NOT. People can own guns and we can still close the gun show loophole, outlaw semi-automatic weapons, and make sure people on the terror watch list can’t buy guns.
If influence pedaling were illegal, the NRA couldn’t hijack Congress any longer.
celebiddy says
Absolutely i believe in the 2nd amendment. The only thing that can stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun. No surprise all these mass shootings happen in gun free zones aka target practice. Theres already so many guns in circulation sold in the black market that criminals will find them. Not to mention the first step toward tyrannical control is disarming the citizens.
LittleMrs says
Why would I love it if it’s Mark Ruffalo? His hypocrisy is evident. He’s a good actor, but I wish he’d read his lines and then zip his lips!
Or I feel a sniff of Leo (you owe me this Academy Award) di Caprio. Yuck.
Of course I support our Second Ammendment. Our Constitution is to be cherished.

I’m originally from Perth Australia. Now I live in Seattle. Perth has REALLY strict gun laws. Seattle you just walk in and pretty much buy what you want. According to police and FBI statistics you are 40% more likely to get murdered in Perth, 30% more likely to be raped, and twice as likely to have your home broken into. They are the official stats.
I’m really conflicted on the whole gun control thing. I don’t have an answer.
jessdill says
And the US wonders why so many people and children are dying at the hands of guns. Americans think more guns will stop the violence. When will you all wake up? I have yet to hear of any incident where a civilian with a gun used it on an attacker and saved lives. Wake up. More guns = more deaths. The stats prove it. The US is the most dangerous nation for gun violence by civilians in the entire world. And don’t get me started on assault rifles….Thanks I’ll stay in Canada. Strong…
celebiddy says
Thats because attackers go to gun free zones to shoot unarmed people. Adjusted for population, blue states have over 40% more shootings then red states
Gemza says
I’m not sure abot the celebrity, but I’m a member of the NRA, have firearms & love target shooting. As a woman, I feel secure knowing I can defend myself & my family if necessary. Home invasions are on the rise & normally involve 2 or more assailants,so limiting magazine size or banning home defense weapons like ARs or carbines would be a terrible idea. Why would anyone think taking weapons away from law-abiding citizens is a good idea? Criminals don’t obey laws & will always find ways to…
mommagoosed says
Changing our current laws will not prevent criminals/first-time wanna-be murderers from buying guns, of any gauge. The Orlando shooter is a perfect example because he had been vetted by the FBI. The argument about someone being on the terror watch list not being able to buy a gun is weak — why are they still in this country if on the terror watch list? They will find ways to kill & not necessarily with a gun. Who gets to decide who is on the terror watch list? MLK was on this list, BTW.
TulipInBloom says
Wouldn’t surprise me if everyone who signed it owned a gun and employed armed bodyguards.
I support the 2nd ammendment and own guns but I also support common sense background checks. Some people shouldn’t own guns.
Brizzles says
Sir Paul? The Beatles did once say that ‘happiness is a warm gun.’
Don’t know why he would be a member of the NRA though, seeing as the man is British.
The Second Amendment should stay. Stricter background screening needs to be put into effect, and with clearer and more concrete stipulations and conditions set forth identifying guidelines for who would and would not be eligible to own. Factors should definitely include past criminal convictions of a violent nature, and persons…

Don’t know who the crazed gun star is, but the 2nd Amendment was made for when our country was just starting out, etc., who would have thought that it would turn out to what we are experiencing now with such gun violence.. The 2nd Amendment needs to be amended to modern times…. restrict certain guns, etc. Hunters do need their guns, but the other type of guns are ridiculous. Wished former Pres George Bush kept the law ban on semi automatic guns going…instead of letting NRA make more money
mommagoosed says
So, First Amendment rights shouldn’t apply to the Internet since it was made when our country was just starting out?
worldsoldestkitten says
No idea … but you do realize that bolt-actions and semi-automatics aren’t the problem, right? We have one of each, don’t hunt, don’t belong to the NRA, but do enjoy target shooting down at the gun club once in a while. It doesn’t make us gun nuts.
And I’m sure many celebrities sometimes need an armed guard.
And good for whoever it is for keeping them locked in a gun safe.
No hypocrisy there.
High Steppa says
I’m in the NRA and I’m not a gun nut. I am for background checks and restrictions on assumed terrorists. That doesn’t mean repealing the 2nd amendment. As I stated, law abiding citizens who own and use guns in a responsible manner are NOT the problem.

Idk who the star is but at what point is enough, enough for Americans? How many more shooting sprees and mass shootings have to happen before we decide to do something about it? No idea whom amongst the many that signed the petition.
Agree with the sentiments and points of the petition, however absolutely disagree with repealing our Constitutional right to keep and bear arms against the possible tyranny of our own government. And, unfortunately, it won’t stop the criminals from getting them somehow.
justme04 says
I don’t really see why this is so shocking. I think you can support ending gun violence and stricter gun regulations without being against guns all together. Target shooting is a sport. I grew up on a farm around guns. I occasionally target shoot but don’t hunt. I also support gun reform and more diligent background checks and trying to keep guns out of the wrong hands. Oh and I’m a Democrat. It may be shocking a member of the NRA would go against the NRA to sign a petition though….

vorpalswrd says
With Sandy Hook he had no criminal record and was not a suspected terrorist. How does your reform help?
Amityvillain says
Exactly. Reforms don’t help those people who suddenly snap or have mental health issues that are easily hidden. It only creates more laws that law abiding citizens obey, but getting criminals to obey the laws… why would they do that when they can use their criminal activities to bypass that which we follow the law on.
High Steppa says
That was a problem with his mother. The guns were registered to her and she allowed him access. No gun reform would help terrible parenting decisions.

The criminals and Islamic terrorists will alway be able to get guns -2nd A good

I’m from NZ and was at a festival where the Prime Minister walked past shaking peoples’ hands. It was raining so we were under a marquee. A Texan happened to be behind me and asked who this guy was- his jaw dropped to find out, having seen him walking along freely with just a couple of discrete bodyguards. ‘In the US, there’d have been a sweep of the area in advance and snipers behind the trees and we’d have been patted down….’ the argument that having guns make you safer is…well…
Amityvillain says
Fiddlesticks, there is a big difference between being a NZ PM and being the US president. First, the conflicts/wars of NZ are far fewer than the US, which translates to fewer outside enemies. Second, the population of the US is 79 times that of NZ (323.8 mill vs. 4.6 mill), which ups the ante on people with mental health issues.

Interestingly, my family members (not me) have been ranchers in southern AZ since before it became a state. Your comment about illegal aliens crossing the land and destroying things is true. Lots of fences and structures are damaged as they cross, and they leave behind their garbage and human waste as they go. There are places for the cattle to get water, and lots of garbage is left there. Still, my family has helped more than a few who have been sick or hurt while trying to cross.

Repeal the 2nd and only criminals and a repressive gov would have them. First thing a tyranical gov does is to collect all the guns. We would a daily ‘Purge.’ And if we give them up, then I expect all politicians, celebs, and the elite to give them up too. Not likely. And when someone comes into your house at 3 am to kill and rape you and yours, good luck with that. Typical all for me none for thee.
taracu says
Why can conservatives not understand this?
Nobody is taking your precious guns.
Reform does not equal a repeal.
It’s in everyone’s best interests for reform.
jokerjim65 says
Why can’t bleeding heart liberals understand simple English? The 2nd Amendment CLEARLY states that the right shall not be infringed. If you want to change an amendment, the rules are clearly stated in the Constitution.

Don’t give your rights away. Regardless of being a liberal or conservative, once a right is gone the chances of getting it back are close to zero. If the government wanted to turn into even more of a tyrannical state, they wouldn’t need to disarm citizens with gun control. They have drones, tanks, bombs, mines, machine guns, bazookas, etc. Your measly gun collection won’t prevent anything. Primacy of a constitution (from any country) is paramount. I would point out, however, that by definition an amendment is tacit acknowledgement that something was missing from the constitution. Accordingly, it’s facile to refer to the vision of the founding fathers in a gun control debate. Either those men at a later point in time or other men determined that additions to the constitution were necessary, which gave rise to the amendments, including the second amendment.
