Producer’s Wife Needs to Shut It

October 18, 2013 Blind Gossip

man wearing necktieSOLVED!

[Blind Gossip] This producer of this hot film is not going to be happy at all when he finds out what his wife has been doing!

Casting is an art. Sometimes the initial mix of talent you select for a project just doesn’t work, though, and you have to go back to the drawing board and try again. It happens more often than you think.

In Hollywood, you are expected to follow a certain code when it comes to casting a big project. Publicity about your potential cast is welcome… as long as it’s controlled by your publicist and keeps people involved and guessing and doesn’t make anyone look bad. But you definitely don’t throw people under the bus just because your original choice for a project wasn’t quite the right fit. It’s not the talent’s fault, and they should never be blamed for your choices.

This highly-anticipated film is going through some major casting changes. They gracefully dismissed the lead actor in a way that was designed to make everyone look thoughtful and professional and amicable.

The producer’s wife, however, didn’t seem to get the memo! She can’t keep her big mouth shut!  Either she doesn’t understand the process and the professional etiquette involved in casting… or she misses the attention she got when she was a reality star. She has been blabbing all over the place about what a bad choice the now-dismissed actor was for the role (ouch!), soliciting opinions as to other actors who would be right for the role, and dangling carrots as to who the replacement will be. Not authorized, and not cool.

As soon as the producer finds out about her indiscretions, we’re sure he’ll tell her to STFU. In the meantime, we’re kind of enjoying the four dozen plus comments she has made about the film.

Film: 50 Shades of Grey

Actor who left the role: Charlie Hunnam

Producer: Mike DeLuca

Producer’s Wife: Angelique DeLuca

So the role of Christian Grey, which was originally given to Charlie Hunnam, has now been recast. The new guy is Jamie Dornan. We don’t know very much about his acting skills, but we co who looks good when posing in his underwear.

Angelique DeLuca  – who was once on a reality show and thus is a celebrity in her own mind – needs to STFU about the casting choices for her husband’s films.

Mrs. DeLuca was blabbing all over Twitter about what a bad fit Charlie Hunnam was for the role and who she wanted to be in her husband’s film. Really dumb and really unprofessional.

In other news, we are now using The Wall Street Journal as a source to solve blind items!:

Clues About Why Jamie Dornan

Replaced Charlie Hunnam

in ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’

A note on author E.L. James‘s Twitter confirmed that Irish actor Jamie Dornan is now the male lead in the coming movie adaptation of “Fifty Shades of Grey.” So why did the previous male lead, “Sons of Anarchy” star Charlie Hunnam, really drop out of the project? A series of tweets on the Twitter page of of a user identified as Angelique De Luca, may offer some clues. Angelique De Luca, a former contestant on “The Bachelor,” is the wife of “Fifty Shades of Grey” producer Michael De Luca.

On October 12, Universal Pictures and Focus Features, the studios behind the big-screen version of the E.L. James bestseller, issued the official explanation about why Hunnam left: “The filmmakers of FIFTY SHADES OF GREY and Charlie Hunnam have agreed to find another male lead given Hunnam’s immersive TV schedule which is not allowing him time to adequately prepare for the role of Christian Grey.” The studio did not respond for additional requests for comment.

But posts on Angelique De Luca‘s Twitter responding to comments from others seem to tell a different story.

Neither Michael De Luca nor Angelique De Luca responded to requests for comment. Hunnam’s representatives did not respond to requests for comment.

These posts appeared on Angelique De Luca ‘s account about the casting of Dornan in the role of Grey.
