Presidential Candidate’s Sexuality Is Awkward

While the rumors are true, actively refuting such rumors is awkward.

If you don’t deny the rumors, they will persist… and may actually encourage other to chime in with their own experiences. If you do deny the rumors, it puts the issue front and center… exactly where you don’t want it to be. If you try to attack the messenger, you look defensive and nasty… which makes you look even more suspicious. If you try to bribe the accusers to keep quiet… well, that might just be the option you take. There’s plenty of money, right?

Why do you think she never had an issue with his ongoing affairs except when it threatened her climb to power??     I would say Rubio, mostly because the woman half looks like his wife. The Lai in the background could refer to their couples retreat in Hawaii (mentioned in NYT). I’m not sure about the jersey though – Mrs. Rubio was an NFL cheerleader and Mr. Rubio played college football for a year, but the jersey colors are all wrong…

    Rubio seems like an obvious choice but the rumors have flown around H.R. Clinton for years, too (never knew if it was just “powerful woman must be a lesbian” stuff or if it had substance, though).

    My support of a candidate is not affected by their sexuality, assuming they aren’t a rapist or pedophile.

    Cruz sure sets off my gaydar…. Always has. He’s the only one I can picture on his knees in a men’s room stall.

    Rubio may be gay, but it wouldn’t be interesting in the least. He may have experimented, but everyone does to some extent. (It would be far more interesting if he was really an adult instead of a boy wearing daddy’s ill-fitting suit.)

    If Clinton were Lesbian at least she’d be interesting. And probably make her even more electable.

    I don’t think what HRC did qualifies as cheating on her husband. Taking very large sums of money from foreign adversaries in exchange for favors would be defined as cheating the american people.

    This sounds like Hilary (who I will be voting for). My only reason to doubt this is why haven’t the republicans outed her earlier if it’s know that “the rumors are true”? They have been so nasty to her (12 hour hearing to catch her in a gotcha moment on Benghazi, etc). I can’t believe they would hold onto this info for so long. I hope she wins btw!!!!

    I couldn’t care less about a candidate’s sexuality. However, when you stand at a podium and talk smack about same-sex marriage and other issues you know are important to right-wing voters, then sorry, but you deserve to be outed.

    Rubio (means “blonde” in Spanish) was arrested in a gay pick-up park in Miami with a “close friend”. He lived with a gay porn producer (the same “friend”, I think) for some time, and was known to go to gay bars for foam parties.

    Lindsay Graham sounded like he was light in his loafers but he is gone. Hillary is too easy. Yes Rubio appears to have something . Picture that Bob Hoskins as J Edgar Hoover and the waiter scene in Oliver Stone’s Nixon. I like Bernie’s ideas and the fact that he is putting them on the table.     After a lifetime of identifying as liberal, i decided to re-register as a republican. Rand paul (libertarian) was my guy but he’s out. I’d be happy with kasich, rubio, trump or cruz.

    I’m so sick of hearing people say the “republican circus” just because theres a lot of them and they get in heated debates. At least the gop was able to offer up several viable candidates with a wide variety of stances and policies. All the democrats are offering is socialist…

      I identify as a libertarian because i am fiscally conservative but socially liberal (support gay marriage, pro-choice, etc) but i’m not worried about any of these conservatives taking away those freedoms as they are all defenders…

    Hillary. Rubio is a TOTAL fruit but this clearly isn’t him. No way they’d ever even consider addressing them even to deny. This doesn’t sound like they are panicking. Rumors have dogged Hill forever and Ginnifer Flowers claimed Bill said Hillary ate more p*ssy than him.
    I’m comfortable with either Hillary or Bernie Sanders and I feel blessed that there are two really smart people having a show down in the Dems. Of course I’d still support either of them.

    First choice is Sanders though will go for Clinton if she gets the nomination. I don’t care about their sexual preference or gender identity as long as they aren’t hypocrites and vote against legislation that protects LGBT rights.

    Hillary, no question. I don’t care about her sexuality, but I do care about honesty, and she never comes across as honest, just very calculating and self-interested. In fairness, 99.9% of politicians are like that, but she’s not at all good at hiding it.

    I’m leaning towards Hillary Clinton. Bernie was originally my top choice, but once his rape fantasy essay surfaced he lost my vote. And of course I would still support them, regardless of their sexual/gender orientation; the fact that some people would find that a problem is a little silly. As long as they have valid points and I see them as someone who could really change our country for the better, then that small detail…

    If one of the presidential nominees is Transgender, I’d be very surprised. Other than Hillary, who has always been dogged with innuendos and barbs about her sexual preference, I’m not aware of any others. Since Bill is such a slimeball, I’d definitely support her. She’s put up with more than enough with all of his affairs through the years.

    For the rest, yes, I would still support them but I don’t think anyone could win an election if they were outed as LBGT. Not yet anyway.

    After a lifetime as a Republican, I’ve turned my back on the madness that is the GOP’s 2016 lineup. I’m for Bernie, but if he doesn’t get the nod, I’ll go for Hillary. The only GOP entrant I can stand at present is Rand Paul, and he’s a non-starter.

    I have no objections to LGBTQ candidates, per se, but I’d prefer they were open, and not in denial about it.

    I’m too old to care about anonymity.

      I have to disagree. Someones sexuality would not influence my vote, but hypocrisy does. Any Republican who does not support the issues facing the LBTG community, yet it part of the community has something to be accountable for. Political and moral dishonesty is a problem.
