candy 2[Blind Gossip] Let’s talk about what’s really causing this musician’s health problems. He says it’s a medical condition that he’s always had. The truth is that he is ingesting huge quantities of drugs that make it a hundred times worse.

He is going to die. There is no doubt that about that. He’s an addict, and he’s addicted to [substance] but he won’t stop. He uses every day. I would say he drinks about a half gallon a day (no exaggeration). He doesn’t want to stop. He says it’s part of the rap lifestyle. He won’t go to rehab. He is going to die.

Nothing jolly about that.

    Here is what I don’t understand. Rappers and other celebrities out there have tons of $. I can understand wanting that opiate glow, but codeine? Codeine is the worst of the worst. If you do enough to get high, it triggers a histimine response that is super itchy . Benedryl anyone?

    Optional: If he doesn’t make a move to rehab, his next move may be: a bright light, pallbearers, flowers, many sorrowful mourners crying over the six feet deep hole that he’ll be placed in, I wish that there was a pill that could be given. To an addict(s) that can cure them of addiction and make it so they wouldn’t want anything that’s an illegal substance, I guess I can keep wishing. ?

    Lil Wayne and his seizures and sizzurp addiction. He won’t get better until the root causes of his addiction are dealt with, and that will be difficult of he’s not ready and not even willing to examine them. I fully expect him to die in the next couple of years. I don’t wish that on anybody, but sadly it looks inevitable.

    Lil Wayne aka Weezy…he ain’t going to rehab. Surprised that he is still alive. He has many children…get clean for them if he doesn’t care about himself. Sad!

    If he didn’t go to rehab after the last time he was on life support, he’s not going now. Drugs took Prince, they will take you. Prince’s passing was tragic, Lil Wayne won’t remembered for the fool he was.

    i know little about the rap scene… next to nothing however, this sounds like lil wayne.
    he’s talked about having epilepsy his whole life.

    I’m thinking this must be Lil Wayne, whose plane was forced to emergency land in Nebraska because he was suffering from seizures. The jolly rancher picture and clue suggest the substance is sizzurp/purple drank, which he’s rapped about in the past.

    I don’t understand how this all became a thing. It’s cough medicine and jolly ranchers, right? So what about that combination is so addictive?

    Either way, lil wayne has had a lot of chances to give this up. He hasn’t and now appears he won’t. So his billion babies will be without a dad because of this. Some legacy to leave.

      It is not just any cough syrup. This is prescription grade stuff that has codeine in it. They dissolve Candy into it to make it easier to gulp down.

      The cough syrup has codeine in it. Codiene is an opiate drug in the same family as morphine and heroin and fentanyl (one of the weaker forms though). Still highly addictive and can cause overdoses.

      Sizzurp, as they call it, has codeine in it, which is a narcotic pain killer, and in high doses, of which a half gallon would certainly be, affects respiration and heart rate. Anyone can and wil die from abuse of this or any drug. You would simply stop breathing.

      It’s Activis cough syrup with promethazyne and codeine. Promethazyne calms thes nerves and chills you out and codeine (a very strong opiate) takes away pain and gives you a euphoric feeling much like heroin. The cough syrup is mixed with Sprite and jolly ranchers. So it’s like a carbonated wine cooler that makes every concern and worry (including death) go far far away.

      It’s not just a cough syrup, it’s a cough syrup with codeine – an opioid. That is what is so addictive.

      It’s prescription cough syrup, with codeine added. Still…sounds pretty gross no matter what!

      In the southeast the recipe was Skittles, Arizona Iced Tea, and the cough syrup which contains some kind of narcotic/hypnotic effect. Not sure why it’s so popular in the hip hop community, but it has been, at least in ATL for quite a while now. (source:Work for the APD)

    No. The close calls with the seizures aren’t enough to make him stop. Some people seem to have a death wish.

      Here’s something… He won’t go to rehab because he has brain damage from drinking cough syrup and can’t make that kind of decision. (I saw an episode of ‘House’ where a guy who was a genius dropped out of society, drank cough syrup like water and his IQ just plummeted. He told Dr. House he didn’t want to quit it because he was married to a (normal) young woman who was “so far below me in the IQ department she might as well be another species”! (More to that story, but….)
