[Blind Gossip] This very famous singer really wants to become an actor.

She doesn’t just want to be a “celebrity with a walk-on part” kind of actor. She wants to be a great, serious, Academy-Award-winning actor!

To that end, she’s been taking acting lessons.

It’s not going well.

She is just weirdly self-conscious and image-conscious. It’s like she is always “on stage”, hyper-aware of who she is, who’s watching, where the camera is, how she looks, etc. There’s no vulnerability there, just ego. It’s her dressed in a costume, reading lines and mugging for the camera. If you tell her not to mug, she goes wooden. She can’t just let go and become the character.

If I had to put her in some kind of acting gig, I’d put her on Broadway. She can work the stage and she can hit her marks and she can project, so it wouldn’t be a total disaster. Or maybe I’d make her a guest star in one of those bad sitcoms where she can mug for the camera. But serious TV or film? No.

That’s a shame… because we hear that she is aiming for a LEAD role in a SERIOUS film or TV series in 2017 or 2018!

Not Miley Cyrus… although our singer is also under 30.

    It’s the queen Bee herself. This blind is about Beyonce. She was recently in us weekly talking about how she is taking acting lessons in New York, and L.A for the past year because she wants to get more dramatic roles.

    Taylor Swift. Girl knows how to pose for pap shots and stage performances, but nothing else. Judging by her attempt to look sexy in that Zayn video, I say that she has a long way to go, so no, I do not think she will be successful, and I’ll be glad for that! I’m sick of her playing the victim.

    This screams Swifty, especially ego-wise. Though it’s difficult to imagine anyone describing her as easily projecting her vocals.

    Don’t think she’d pull it off based on her videos. She’d better stick to singing Max Martin tunes.

    My guess is Ariana Grande. She’s a real muggy ham. She’s on that horrible Scream series right? She was just in Hairspray Live and played Penny which is a goofy muggy role. It seems she needs a lot of training and some maturity to pull off anything deep.

    I will guess Taylor. Her ambition is very obvious and she seems already wooden to me without even seeing her act.

    I think she has enough connections to get those serious roles. However, I predict Madonna levels of ineptitude in front of the camera.

    a part of me really thinks this is Swifty. She’s been a little MIA lately and her theatrics on stage would make me think she believes she’s expressive enough to act.

    Gaga? Katy Perry? Swift? Every entertainer seems to want to do EVERY thing instead of just capitalizing on what they’re actually talented at. Nothing wrong with ambition and dreams but there are some things we’re just not good at

    Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez and Ariana Grande all started off as actresses and seem to prefer their music careers so I doubt it’s any of them. Can’t think of anyone else.

    Absolutely not. Her performance in American Horror Storry was cringe-worthy at best. I cannot believe Bradley Cooper got her for A Star is Born. It’s going to be a disaster.

    First thought was Lady Gaga, but A) she’s 30 already, and B) acting already.
    Katy Perry is 32. Ariana, Demi and Selena all started as actresses. Rihanna already acting. Is Lorde considered “very” famous?
    With the “very famous” description, it really only leaves Taylor Swift, right? She’s only done a tiny bit of “acting” outside of her videos, and is pretty bad.

    Tswizzle has had some walk-on parts, but she’s not known for projecting, her vocals are criticized a lot.

    Oh, maybe that girl that was in “Hairspray Live”, the one who licked donuts…Ariana Grande! I can see her thinking she’s all that.

    No, she won’t be successful as an actor! I don’t even understand how she’s successful as a singer. On “Hairspray Live” she was the worst singer. That surprised me, as I had only heard of her, had never heard her sing, and expected something other than what she delivered.

      Okay, after reading other answers, I learned that Ariana got her start as an actor. I didn’t know that. Maybe this is about Taylor Swift. I don’t think Taylor would be a good actor. She seems too uptight, and I can’t see her yielding and becoming a character….though I guess she has done a pretty good job of pretending to be Miss Goody-Goody.

    Some of her peers, Selena, Miley, got their start in the biz as actresses. Taylor is the ONLY top singer to not act have an acting role or part in a film or TV. Rihanna is also doing her thing on the screen.

    Taylor must have studied acting at the same school as Madonna. Models also have the same issue. 2 dimensional, pose, look pretty for still shots…but can’t let themselves be natural in moving pictures. Too self-consciously aware.

    I believe she’s had a small part in Valentine’s Day(??) as part of an ensemble cast and was pretty wooden then……some of the pap shots of her trying to look friendly and approachable come across as muggy…..so unless her acting coach is a miracle worker I doubt an Oscar is in her near future.

    Selena Gomez Im thinking because of similar blind being about Justin Beiber and shes only under age 30 singer linked to him and as his ex-gf…
    BUT Selena has acting skills…actually starred in her own show plus multiple acting credits on other stuff. This blind sounds like it’s about somebody who doesn’t have any acting experience or credits though so im stumped?

Unfortunately, like Madonna and Beyonce, she wants an Oscar, and her ego is so huge she just won’t acknowledge her limitations and accept that she should stick to singing. I see an embarrassing straight to DVD movie in her future.

    When I watch music videos, I laugh at all the ridiculous posing. For a live example, just watch 5th Harmony. Singers are trained in fake. There are exceptions…not many.

    First i think was Gaga but her acting was good on AHS and she will be 31 this year so… and besides Gaga the only singer that is making a tv series is Rihanna on Bates Motel.
    Do you think she’ll be successful as an actor? I dont know, her acting was bad at battleship and apparently shes not getting better.

    Taylor Swift? Just days ago announced she’s doing no concerts this year, perhaps to focus on acting? She’s already dipped her toes in the water a few years back in Valentine’s Day and a few TV shows, and she’s so image conscious I can easily see her having a hard time letting go and becoming a character other than the public personae she’s created.

      After reading the guesses I would have to go with Gaga. Taylor has already acted if I remember correctly. I think it was one of the CSI episodes.

      Lady Gaga IS 30 so not here. I didn’t love her on AHS but she didn’t have only one face. She was able to cry and do a bit of range.

      The blind suggests no real experience acting, so probably Taylor. Not sure if she’s done commercials but those don’t count as “acting.”

      AHS fell apart when Jessica Lange left. Not even Bassett and Bates with all their talents could hold the mediocre, not scary writing together since Lange’s departure.
