Less Than Zero Chemistry

Hate seems like too dark a word to describe their feelings for each other. Intense dislike? Extreme annoyance and indifference?

Whatever. Just know that although they were supposed to be playing a very passionate couple on screen… they had less than zero chemistry together and avoided each other in real life.

The publicists tried to make them do social outings together. This was torturous for them and didn’t help. One publicist even spread rumors that they were having some sort of a fling to stir up some interest among fans of the original source material. Ha!

When the sequel comes out, expect more of the same shady rumors. Just know that it’s all fake.

    50 Shades definitely needed a different lead actor. Dornan just didn’t pull it off. I always thought it would have been to cast a rather dark, mysterious and sexy guy to play the role. I would have loved it Norman Reedus could have played that part. It would have blown people away.

    This totally screams Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan to me. They had zero chemistry in that first movie and the rumours of their dislike of each other have been around a while.

    They are AWFUL. This trilogy had the potential to blow a hole in the universe with it’s popularity, but the casting was completely wrong. Read the books. They’re far better.

    They did not have chemistry in the first movie and from what I have seen in the new trailer that hasn’t changed at all. I don’t feel the excitement, the tension or even any sexual attraction. He has no edge and she is boring. Sorry!

    Zero Chemistry – he was stiff in the role but she didn’t provide much inspiration. She seems like a real pill to deal with after watching some of her interviews. He is playful and she is stiff with no sense of humor.

    I just recently saw the trailer on twitter. They just don’t match. Also, I will never understand the hype over the movies. They don’t even act that good, and the plot only includes sex, fights, crazy exes and a lot of spanking.

    I’ve never read the books or saw the movie, but I have seen her in a different movie and she didn’t seem like the best actress, so it wouldn’t surprise me if they didn’t have chemistry.

    I’ve read some stuff that wasn’t very flattering of her. He seems like a well adjusted family man. Different priorities I suppose.

    The chemistry wasn’t terrible, it may help if Dakota didn’t have the Kristen Stewart sour puss attitude.

    Dakota, you only get these roles because of your famous parents. Suck it up & smile and show a little gratitude for the opportunities thousands would love to stop waiting tables for!

      What did she do? I remember her saying in some interview that she’s proud of the movie and grateful for the role because she’s got more work and people know her now. Something like that. Jamie Dornan is the one that gets pissed if asked questions about Fifty Shades.

      Totally agree. She’s unattractive, a bad actress, and extremely uninteresting (read: very dimwitted). She should be thanking the stars for her mommy and daddy.

    Nope, no on-screen chemistry (and while we’re at it, he is as handsome as they come but didn’t do a stellar job of covering his accent – which is adorable, but shouldn’t be in the movie – and she is so blah, not that pretty and kinda talent-less).
